  12. i have two citica 201ds and love them. couple abec5's and carbontex washers make them really shine.
  13. my pictures arnt as pretty as you guys...
  14. water cafe con leche/colada sweetwater 420 thats all i need in life.
  15. i crush all barbs on single hook baits. makes safe releasing super easy. especially on deep hooked fish. im thinking of crushing 2 out of the 3 barbs on my few cranks to help with release also...
  16. isnt the new casters the same as the old tarpons? or am i thinking of a different one...
  17. from what i understand , BCs have bigger gears so they have more muscle to em. i used to only fish with spinning till i picked up bait casters. now i only have one spinning setup for baits under 3/16-1/4oz and smaller shallow cranks. plenty of people strictly fish with spinning and have no problems fishing any technique. the same can be said for people who only fish with casting gear. if youre having a hard time getting the fish to stay away from cover when youre fighting them , id say you need heavier gear. a more stout rod and heavier line should do you great in those situations. maybe even use braid and tighten the drag down some. its a small investment so if you dont like it , youre only out a few bucks. btw , those president reels are no slouch. they are alot of peoples first pick , myself included , for reels in its price range.
  18. i only have fished with low profile bait casters. i would love to have a smaller round reel like an abu 4601/5601 (im a lefty cranker) but when i held them in stores , they felt awkward...
  19. nvm. good stuff. never really wacky rigged much though. eye/face protection would be good too. dont want pieces of lead in your eyes.
  20. i like p line cxx. the 10lb on a bait caster is just great. i tried the 6lb cxx on a small arbor spinning reel and it just didnt agree. depending on the spool size of the spinning reel , you may like it. cx is supposed to be much more manageable on spinning reels but i havnt tried it personally. after making the switch to braid (20/6 power pro), i wont go with anything else on a spinning reel. however , i do still use cxx as leader material and it holds up great to all the rocks and other line eating crap in my local lakes.
  21. great pics! that weed line looks fun too.
