  1. palomar and albright.
  2. the bite has slowed down for me as well (check my other thread in this section). i was killin em on trick sticks and other plastics up untill recently. average for the lake i frequent the most is around 1-2 lbs. not big by any means but there are some 2-3's in there. the peacocks have gotten bigger though. biggest of the year and my PB was a few months ago in plantation at tree tops park. the park is strictly catch and release as far as i know. there are some pretty healthy fish in there. caught em on fluke jr's , taper tails and trick sticks.
  3. seige is my favorite mono. smooth , low memory and stretch. cant ask for too much from mono...
  4. what do i need or what am i low on? plastics and hooks. if im well stocked with my normal stuff, i would go for something new to me. cranks , jigs and spinners.
  5. clear water is where it matters most to me. i try to stick with natural colors like greens ,whites and baby bass. i do have some tequila sunrise , red shad and other colors that all catch fish though too.
  6. this. take a BPS/cabelas magazine , close your eyes and randomly pick a page in the reel section. point to a reel and there you have it.
  7. ;D it was a good movie. bill ****** murry! i know thats not your middle name but.. ;D that killed me.
  8. lol... the professional knocked up the dark knight rampage (directed by uwe boll) the ugly truth
  9. 5? youre kidding right? blow saving private ryan men of honor 300 the kingdom fear and loathing in las vegas the hangover heavy metal harold and kumar white castle behind enemy lines the protector cheech and chong up in smoke and thats just off the top of my head. i have wayyy to many favorites to pick 5.
  10. x2. with something in the pic for size comparison. i need a 50 size BC in my life.
  11. for braid to leader , i find the albright is easier to tie than the uni to uni. the knot is also smaller and passes through guides easier. i like a longer leader length so i can retie if needed without having to retie the leader/main line knot again. around 5 ft depending on rod length. i havnt fish the braid without a leader just because the 10lb p-line cxx is already hard to break off. i wouldnt want to try and break off 50lb braid every time i get snagged.
  12. thanks for the tips guys. nice pic SFBA. i would love to have a lake in my backyard.
  13. i use powerpro as well. i picked mine up when it went 20% off at sports authority. 50/12 with 10lb CXX leader. no complaints yet.
  14. x2. i love my citica so much , i bought two. ive NEVER had any issues with either of mine. with that money , i would shop around on ebay and pick up a used citica D if i were set on a baitcaster. otherwise , i would look into a spinning rig.
  15. i agree , the DS used to be a 'go-to' for me , but the lakes i fish now have steep drop offs that eat that rig. i cant tell you how much tackle ive lost to getting snagged on rocks. other than that , 4" and 5" trick sticks always produced for me , just not lately. as far as i know the only thing in my lakes that are 6+lbs are the carp and rocks ;D. ill make the effort to get out earlier when i can to see if that will help. thanks.
  16. what baits/presentations and time of day has been best for everyone? the fish seemed to turn off a few days before that storm. im guessing with all that rain we got , the o2 levels are down and the fish are deep? i do fish from shore so im kind of limited on how deep i can fish. i usually go out early afternoon and its already stupid hot.
  17. retail? president. bargain hunting? abu garcia 600-800 series. you can occasionally find excellent deals on these on ebay and other sites.
  18. copoly on a baitcaster? CXX in 10lb. otherwise , i would go with braid.

  20. lol. x2 One of the joys of living in southern Florida. Unless we have one of those ridiculously bad cold snaps like earlier this year. x3.
  21. ive never had a problem with rusty hooks. i do keep the used ones and the new separate of course and i never put my plastics with my hooks except for small soft swimbaits. there was a topic not too long ago talking about people using those silica? gel packs found in shoe boxes and such to keep things dry. i threw one in mine just for safe measure.
  22. one handed unless im throwing heavy baits.
  23. I wasn't trying to tick you off and I'm not your pal . oh snap. havnt tried it. palomar , uni or albright for me.
