  1. x2. i use a 6' m/f compre and love it for top water.
  2. i do the same thing. cuts back on weight too since i fish from shore. except i do repair the torn baits and re-fish them untill theyre gone. i really need to get one of those plastic binders though.
  3. for $20 , i would go for it. couldnt imagine fishing it with anything but braid though.
  4. naptha/lighter fluid for bearings. dish detergent (dawn) and water for everything else. i picked up penn reel oil/grease and im been happy with it. its been said before but ill say it again - its not what you use , but how you use it.
  5. good luck and stay safe everyone. im looking forward to pictures!
  6. any color as long as its green.
  7. i wont be able to make it. sorry guys.
  8. amazing as usual.
  9. Pick me up some of those rage tails. I'll get you some cash in the mail or something they had 5 bins full of crap on clearance at the kendall SA. i got so much grease and fish attractants on my hands going through there , it was terrible. not to mention all the cranks/trebles that were loose in there. i only found the two packs. red shad is the color i think. might want to check your local store to see what they got. they also had a few traps , torpedoes and a bunch of gulp saltwater baits.
  10. i ended up bringing it back. stopped by sports authority on the way home and picked up some power pro (dont know why i havnt spooled my baitcasters with braid before , this stuff is amazing!) and found some rage tail anacondas for $1.90 a pack. maybe is just wasnt meant to be. i think ill just save my change and pick up a falcon bucoo or something when i can.
  11. took it out today for a couple hours. first thing i noticed again , is the weight. this rod is terribly tip heavy. with the rear grip being so short , it makes it that much more obvious. sensitivity is decent at best even with braid. i missed a few hooksets on some decent sized fish. it was almost exhausting trying to set a hook after fishing with it for a little more than an hour. the cork. well , its very soft. not as dense as my fenwick eagle gt or my clarus. im sure thats where some of the sensitivity is lost. guides seemed to hold up fine. i did notice some were crooked. not sure if that was from the car ride or something else , but they bent back easily. so far , im a little disappointed in this rod considering it was supposed to top the ugly sticks and be 'light weight for all day fishing'. i guess you cant ask for too much from a $50 rod. ill give it another outing or two before i decide if im going to exchange it for something else or not. if i do , i might pick up a vendetta or bionic blade unless they have something else on sale.
  12. i love TW. im also guilty of murdering grammar. we are not typing up resumes , but you do need a period or two somewhere in there.
  13. went ahead and picked one up at BPS today. note: i am by no means a professional or have experience with expensive ($150+) rods. first thing i noticed is the weight. it is pretty tip heavy but it seems to have tons of backbone. it will be a beater rod , and i only fish for 2 to 3 hours at a time , so thats not too much of an issue to me. the handle is a bit short for a 7' rod. the cork looks good. guides look good. there are some imperfections in the thread wrapping? , but look fine otherwise. i havnt held an ugly stick in years so i cant really say how the two compare. i do remember that on the ugly's i did own , they all had guide inserts fall out. these seem to be seated better in their frame. i threw my abu 602 on there and spooled with 20/6 power pro with 10lb big game leader. i will be out tomorrow morning and i will give more of a review then. so far , for $50 , it does not seem to be a bad rod at all. especially with the lifetime warranty.
  14. you guys are great. thanks everyone! congrats to you too , bwell!
  15. i take a few out of their bags and throw them in zip lock bags so im not carrying 10-20 of each bait when i may only use 2 or 3 that day. rage tails and soft swimbaits stay in their original packaging though.
  16. spinning. the 2 piece 7' clarus is $80. the reel is the abu 602 , so 20 or 30lb braid.
  17. thanks everyone.
  18. lol. i was hoping it would be a step or so above an ugly stick. i do fish alot of trigs and some shakey heads and split shots so i need at least some sensitivity. are there any decent rods at $50?
  19. ;D ;D ;D thanks. she will be breastfeeding. never thought about the allergy thing. makes sense though. im getting very anxious to see what the doc has to say...
  20. i would be using it for everything. trigs , cranks , frozen/live bait for saltwater etc and i would be using braid as well. have you tried any other techniques with it?
  21. ;D ;D ;D not exactly how its pronounced , but thanks!
  22. i use real player now but the EQ is 3 band - very slack. i was thinking about winamp but have been unimpressed with it in the past. i mainly listen to music , but do watch some movies on occasion.
  23. curious why i havnt seen too much about these rods. the couple i have read , seem to be positive aside from weight. any of yous have one? im considering the 7' 2 piece m/f. im also open to suggestions for a similar rod in that price range...
  24. dont come near my kid , other. ;D jk my fiance was late by a few days and everyone jokingly said she was pregnant. well , three pregnancy tests later , she is. we have an appointment next wednesday to see how far along we are and whatever else they do there. we think shes about 5 weeks. even though we have talked about having kids in the past , im very VERY nervous since this will be our first child but very excited at the same time. we have been together for 6 years tomorrow. do you guys have any advice for us? we need all we can get lol.
