  1. how much dawn do you mix with the water and how long do you let them sit?
  2. i found the MAP sensor in the engine compartment , but where would the IAC be? somewhere near the MAP right? what am i checking for on the IAC? what about the PCV valve?
  3. battery is new. car is all stock except for stereo system. regular gas is pumped. i talked to a friend of mine and he thought it may be my IAC valve or MAF sensor. one of my older blazers had the same problem but the sensors were cheap. so i went along and did all of them untill it was fixed.
  4. my car has been shutting off when i start it in the morning. i would turn it on and it would idle low (around 3-400 rpm) and turn off after a minute. if not , it would when i put it in gear. it is fine after the engine warms and it doesnt do it all the time. after driving for a while , i can turn it off and on without a problem. it seems its only in the morning. no check engine or service engine soon lights are on and the car runs fine otherwise. the car is a 2001 honda accord ex 4-door with an auto transmission. any ideas what it could be?
  5. wow , thanks. i swung by home depot earlier. i saw the cans of naptha in the paint department but it contained detergents. would ronson lighter fluid work? i saw the simple green there too , but in a spray bottle. the directions on the back say to dilute it to either a 1:10 or 1:30 ratio depending on how dirty the part/s are. is it really worth it , or would dish soap work just as well? also , with the dish soap , i know i should stir it rather than shake to avoid all the bubbles , but how strong do i mix it and how long would i leave the parts in there?
  6. ill look into that. i also seen people mention brake or carb cleaner...
  7. thanks. im thinking naptha is the way to go. dish detergent is at the sink. doesnt home depot sell cans of the stuff? im not wanting to buy a giant can of it , just something i can use for a few reels.
  8. got my parts in for my citica and im about ready to do my first service. ive been reading a ton all over and seen many suggestions and recommendations for many degreasers. from simple green , formula 88 and naptha to dawn dish soap. i also read that some will ruin drag disks and/or shouldnt be used on or around plastic parts. i only want to buy one that i can use on everything. what do you guys suggest?
  9. .... man, nice fish lol. great colors too! i was out earlier as well before the rain came. got a few LMs but still no peas for me.
  10. x2 I've got 20lb Power Pro with some 12lb Seagaur Abrazx as a leader on my small spinning rod. I'm very happy with it. what size spool and rod? ive tried 15/4 PP on my 6'6" light spinning rod and i got wind knots left and right untill i finally cut it off and trashed it.
  11. :-? all i use is green line...
  12. soft plastics. starting to really like topwater though.
  13. ive had 6' , 6'6" and 7' rods. i find the 6'6" is best for shore fishing. even then , trees and shrubs can get in the way , so the 6' still has its place. imo , i felt too clumsy with the 7'. as for the rod itself , the clarus is one BA rod for the price and the lifetime warranty is a huge bonus. depending where youre ordering from , you may be able to get the seller to match a price. there are a few sites around that offer the clarus for $10 off suggested retail depending on length.
  14. as long as the companies QC standards are met , what does it matter where its from? :-?
  15. bought a pack in watermelon. i didnt use an unweighted hook and that thing just spun. im going to see if i can get away with using a small split shot on the bend of the hook to keep it from spinning.
  16. i would say big game has slightly better castability than CXX. its not a bad line at all. maybe you came across some old/bad spools. i wouldnt use it on a spinning reel. at $7-$8 for 1500 yards of 10# , i like it.
  17. the reel feels 'geary' on the retrieve and with the drag all the way loose , there is still resistance. i have another citica i can compare to and feel pretty confident about it. i would like to be able to service my own reels, it could save me a few bucks.
  18. makes sense. i see where it says for reels in saltwater but figured it would be the same for fresh. i didnt realize its that much of a higher viscosity. thanks. you will be seeing an order from me soon.
  19. so one of my citica's is starting to run rough. i was planning on doing the cleaning myself (or try at least) and picking up a set of carbontex washers, bearings and grease from *. where he has the shimano drag grease , it says it is not gear grease.. http://www.***/shopping/shop/store/reel-repair-supplies04.html on shimanos own maintenance .pdf , it says to apply to drag and gear teeth... http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/reel_maintenance_instructions.download.-mainParsys-0001-downloadFile.html/Maintenance%20Tips-%20Baitcasting%20Reels%20%282%20pages%29.pdf which one is it? i do have some penn reel grease i can always use, but i was curious why he would say not to use it on gears. :-?
  20. i always look or stare , but i never carry a rod with me unless i know ill have the time to fish. but if it looks legal to fish , ill bing maps it when i get home. i even go through the whole area in birds eye and see if there is anything else around it.
  21. someone suggested i try fireline on my small diameter spinning reel (abu 801). ive tried powerpro and got massive amounts of windknots from using a thin diameter line and it being too soft. so i gave up on it. how do you guys think this would compare to that? iirc , the reel is rated for 110 yards of 6#.
  22. those are some big A jaws. ;D ;D it does!
  23. organized? ;D ;D ;D you guys are crazy.
  24. nice. i still cant get over the amount of lakes in broward compared to down here in south miami. you guys are spoiled .
