i was offered a few cardinal 3's and 4's for $20 a pop but i dont know what i would do with them. nice bc's...

ive been thinking about doing this also later down the road when money allows. my mother in law has had it done and she says its great. im just concerned about the procedure itself because they remove a piece of eye film? how does that feel? painful? pressure? personally , i think i would be terrified...

lol @ ugly sticks. thats all i used to buy when i was younger just because they were cheap and i could beat the hell out of em and not worry about it. that being said , the extra $25-30 i spent on my clarus got me a 100x better rod. my 5' ugly stick lite UL rod weighs more than my 6' M/F compre , 6'6 L/F clarus and probably just as much as my 6'6 MH/F eagle gt and is no where near as sensitive.

the pelican castaway from dicks has been recommended to me a few times when i was looking for one. on another forum , plenty of members had them and everyone said they were great at their price point , just a bit heavy.

thanks guys. just looking at the pic again gets me pumped. as for the socks and sandals , ive been sick since sunday and im just now getting over it. was trying to keep my feet comfortable , but that went out the window when i saw the size of that beast. yes ;D i was NOT expecting that. ill be up that way again tonight through sat afternoon if you wanted to meet up. btw ,why is the font so tiny and gray when i type in the reply box , but when its posted , its normal?

it certainly does take skill. i did my secret fish call , but they didnt answer. this one called back , then i set the hook. the rest is history.

im a giant. my thumbnail is like 2ft in diameter and that trap is like 30oz. so that makes the fish 19.2lb.

went to a park that another member recommended for an hour or so today. walked around a smaller creek and caught a couple 7" LM on a 5" trick stick. one , i set the hook and it flew right out of the water. both were released successfully. continued to walk around the south east side of the lake and saw some boils on the water. casted to them - nothing. started sprinkling but i stayed out. walked a little further south on this lake and cast out a 8" taper tail in watermelon... twitch , twitch... pause...SLAM! i saw the bass engulf the bait! i sware my heart stopped. i was reeling her in as she was stripping line. once i got her a couple feet from shore , i jumped in there with my socks and sandals (dont ask) and lipped her. i was about to pull an ike and start screaming and breakdancing but saw that there was a family taking pictures and didnt want them to think im a nut-job. she was also released unharmed. i dont know for sure how much she weighed , but i know ive never caught one as big. i would guess 7lbs? not too sure. maybe one of you guys could tell me. wooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

as far as i know , BPS doesnt carry the clarus. do you really need the receipt for the OTC exchange?

rolo , ive seen it mentioned before about rigging them sideways. i have a pack of swimbaits that ive never had any luck with. do you rig them sideways with the same sled head or would a ewg hook work? how do you work the retrieve? im thinking the bait would just spin and spin. :-? harbor freight has small packages of pre-cut heat shrink tubes for cheap. but really any hardware store should carry it,,.

yea i forgot to tell you. broward county parks are closed on tuesdays. they had cutbacks so thats the day they all took off. good thing is you only have to pay on weekends. But yea if you go to tree tops fish in the south end. thats terrible (about the cutbacks), ill hit up tree tops before i head back down south today.

seeing used beds at my home lake also. what will you guys be focusing on in the coming weeks/month?

ive never had to use any warranty service with any of my fishing gear. i do recall a member or two doing so and posting about it when we had the shimano sub-forum and they were pleased with the process. i would imagine with a company as successful as shimano , the process would be quick and painless.

plantation heritage was closed too. is that like a broward thing? ended up fishing fig tree for a few. thought my trick stick was stuck on some grass , i went to pop it free and a 5" bass came flying out the water ;D. it wasnt hooked but it was pretty funny. then i lost a decent one further up the bank. ill see about checking out those other two tomorrow morning.

bags. i take a few baits out of their factory bags and throw them in ziplocks. i see no difference doing it this way as opposed to fishing them right out of their original bags....unless you let them sit in the sun.

i throw weightless 5" senkos/trick sticks on a 6'6" MH/F fenwick eagle gt , citica 201d and 10# big game or cxx. whatever i decide to spool up with. i have no problems getting decent distance with a light wind...

just as you said , its a limited lifetime. warranties against manufacturers defects. some shops have an over the counter exchange others dont. worst case , you have to send it into shimano to receive a new one. i dont understand you asking how good it is though... :-? the clarus is one of , if not , the best rod in its price range. i love mine.

went to check it out today but they were closed. ill be back and fourth between here and miami this month so ill get the chance to get in there. gotta find somewhere else to go today though. i need my fishing fix.
