  1. ive been doing that but i still get them before i would even want to stop the cast. im thinking i may be casting too hard into the wind , but i wouldnt imagine it would knot up this bad.
  2. im getting sick of wind knots. > it seemed after every other cast , the line would knot up like no tomorrow. the last wind knot, i got cought on a snag and now the knot is super tight. any way to fix it? i tried picking it out with my finger nails , but that didnt work and i would hate to have to cut that much line off. im using a 6'6" light/fast spinning rod with a abu 801 spooled with 15/4 PP and 6lb cxx leader joined with a uni-uni.
  3. i gave them up a while ago since i couldnt catch a cold with one but recently picked them up. now it seems like thats all they want. oh well,im giving it to em. http://www.insideline.net/weeklynews/2009/09-0423.html http://www.***.com/articles/senko.shtml

got my *** order in! ;D. these craw tubes and the 7" hookup look killer. brent threw a bunch of the taper tailworms in the armed robbery bag. how does everyone fish these?
  5. good idea. ive been using side cutters (klein) and havnt had ANY issue with straining myself to cut hooks/split rings. i would imagine , any set of good side cutters will do the job, but those may be easier ... and heavier.
  6. i only fish from shore. i keep original bags at the house and take 3-5 of whatever ill be using and put them in ziplock bags and throw them in the tackle bag. used baits have their own bag. keeps weight and clutter down.
  7. i throw them on a 6' M/F BC rig or a 6'6 MH/F bc rig.

ive used them for a little while. if it wasnt for a couple bad hooks (never found a single bad hook in any packs of gammy's) i think i would buy them more often. but for the < $1.00 difference , ill go with gammy.
  9. i used straight 6lb CXX on my 801 and hated it after a week. now i use it just for leaders.
  10. lol , i have that exact rod paired with an abu garcia 801. recently made the switch to braid. went with 15/4 power pro and so far i havnt seen any wear on the guides.
  11. those cocoons look nice. i think the bps near me carries them too. i see they only have two colors though , gray and amber. which should i choose for fishing down here in sunny south florida?
  12. i would like to have the benefit of having polarized lenses without having to but another pair of glasses ( i wear Rx glasses)so im thinking clip ons would be my best bet. does anyone have a pair? i need them to fit my ray-bans..

there was quite a few of them in my last order so i would imagine there will be a few this time too. i caught my only jig fish using the beaver as a trailer.

just placed my order. 10pk of 7" hookup 10pk of 4" craw tube 2x 25pk of 5" trick sticks and a couple of the armed robberys and dents and dings. i think i should be good for a little while.

i have 15/4 PP braid on my light spinning rig and have got a few wind knots that were a pita to get out. just yesterday i made a hard cast and got the worst nest ive ever seen on my BC and had to cut it out. wasnt a problem though since it was spooled with 10lb big game. dont get me wrong , i think i will eventually go with braid on everything , just not now lol.

i do have a few cranks that dive under 6' none with square lips. the shad rap being my #1 and ive been playing with a xrap but havnt got the twitch just right. havnt fished jigs much either since they never produce for me except for one catfish lol. ive been thinking about picking up some braid but my M and MH rods are baitcasting and i still get some serious backlashes every now and then. i would hate to have to pick those out with braid ;D.

the lakes i fish are mostly clear and its gets to about 4-6ft deep , 10-15ft out from shore with a rocky bottom (if that makes sense) then there is a serious drop off into a jungle of heavy weeds. not sure how deep the water is there , but i would think around 15ft. i could be wrong though. while i do throw some jigs and shaky heads , it seems everytime i do , they get lost to a snag. so i mostly stick to plastics which wont hurt if i loose a $.25 t-rig and i still catch fish.

i usually only throw plastics from shore everytime im out with the exception of a few cranks or a spinner bait. does anyone else only throw plastics from shore? what do you use? personally , i keep flukes , ribbon/C/U-tail worms , and now trick sticks with me at all times but im always down to try something new.
  19. nice. i cant believe you havnt been catching any bass. ive been landing at least one dinker on a trick stick every time im out. we may be up your way this weekend or next...
  20. x2. can't get a ika bite to save my life. i was the same way with senkos/trick sticks. i would throw them every way possible and i wouldnt get a second look from the fish so i gave away almost all of them. i recently decided to give them another shot and it seems every time i throw one now , i catch a fish. i think i may give these a shot..
  21. ive seen a couple empty beds and tons of baby peas along the shore of a local lake. they will be back .
  22. so a buddy took me to check out some old reels today that were left to his uncle. he had a bunch of zebco cardinal 3 or 4's , mitchell 408's and alot of bigger older penn stuff. all of them look very lightly used or new. spare spools and everything. can anyone tell me what these are worth?
  23. im kinda on the fence about this one. ive had bass take the bait on the fall, pick it up off the bottom , and take it while its being crept/drug/hopped along the bottom so there is not 100% to this imo. it depends on what the fish want that day.
  24. personally, ive cought more fish on weights smaller than 3/8oz than i have with heavier weights. i agree with gremlin , heavier weights do spook my fish more so than lighter but i have cought bass with a 3/8oz weight in less than 3' of water... ive used split shots up on the line when using shallow cranks with success but never bullet weights... have you done this with shallow divers?
  25. thats why i never use anything heavier than 3/8oz. i may pick up some 1/2oz so i can get further out , but i dont see myself using anything bigger lol.
