Was just saying. then you wonder why these companies don't honor warranties or even worse , don't offer warranties : you know doing the things you mentioned is a form of fraud and all of us has to get hit with the repercussions >

  12. thats how most companies are . you are talking about the handle grips , i assume . i wanted to buy some from abu garcia a while ago but they said they only sell the handle and grips as one whole piece , same story from quantum ... for $26.00 , seems like the best bet or post in the flea market that you are WTB (want to buy )
  13. any reel that you use in salt water you should have cleaned and lubed a few times a year , more then what you would do for a freshwater reel !! just rinsing it isn't enough .....

  15. that is true of the SX , it is money , i can cast the SX farther than any reel i have ever casted , and now that i'm gonna have it "super tuned" , it is gonna FLY !!!!
  16. all that is different is the handle like you said , the SX did not get the dual cast control .
  17. i use the Revo Inshore , holds 175 yards of 12 lb. line , built like a tank , 24 lbs. of drag , size 10 frame (same size as the stx , sx , s , etc...) love this reel , i use it primarily for bass , but also fish with it for bay bass and calicos . a great all around reel . here is a review - http://www.tackletour.com/reviewabugarciarevoinshore.html
  18. i have the SX in 7.1:1 gears and i love this reel !!! i just put a link up that they are on sale for 119.00 + free shipping (last years models) they are solid reels and cast extremely well . if i had the money to spend for another reel , i would be all over it

  22. only thing to do is try it out , you never know it might work out for you . is it that you can't see the line above water ?? most times in that situation i go by the feel of the line rather than sight . flourocarbon line would be better in my opinion ....
  23. the only down side to the ST-31's are that they are nickel colored ...
  24. the bluegill pattern in both of these companies are top notch !!!
