  1. New Years day I visited the Dick's in Myrtle Beach and although the fishing stuff really wasn't on sale my son and I picked up 2 Hunter Safety Systems vest for $34.99 each.
  2. I do remember one stunt that fish pulled that I thought was hilarious, it was at the Bass Masters Classic weigh in in the Greensboro coliseum, he reached into the livewell and pulls out two huge stuffed bass that were the size of 20 pounders, he held them up and the place went nuts.
  3. The ultravibe spped craw is a really good bait, I like to flip it on bedding bass as well.
  4. for me it was either a yellow rooster tail or a bayou boogie!!
  5. I have very fond memories of the slug-o and still use them to this day. A friend was given 2 of them and we were catching fish like crazy, and using a cigarette lighter to melt them back together so we could keep fishing with them. My first trip after I acquired a bag of them was to Smith Mountain Lake with my wife, launched the boat and proceeded to fish for hours in the cove near the launch ramp without cranking the big motor.
  6. Tackle Warehouse has given me excellent customer service as well, I order on a pretty regular basis and had a bottle of bow to stern to arrive without the spray nozzle, I contacted them and they apologized and shipped it out at once. I had told them to feel free to wait and stick it in my next order but they sent it on.
  7. I caught a good large mouth last week and he fought like crazy but as soon as I netted him and laid him on the deck to remove the hooks from the fish and the net, he never even flinched. I just knew he was waiting until I had a treble hook in my hand before he went to flopping but it never happened until I eased her back in the water.
  8. you are all probably right with the structure scan and side imaging but there sure are a lot of guys out there with power poles now too.

  11. good googly moogly what a bass!!
  12. For some reason the picture insn't opening for me however after being Denny's marshall for the Smith Mountain Lake elite tournament I can only say good things about him. Not only was he very nice, he told me everything he was doing, etc. As far as his tackle he was very loyal to his sponsors, he fished the ardent reels, american rodsmiths rods, strike king jigs, plastics, trailers, spinnerbaits, and a spit-n-king popper. when he opened a storage box for soft plastic for example rodents, there were like 2 or 3 colors and at least 100 of each, the same with the flippin tube, jig, etc. The only non strike king item I saw was a soft bodied swimbait which he had probably 2 dozen of them and of course he was wearing the strike king glasses as well and has a ranger with an evinrude.
  13. Agreed ....................... hard to beat all the advice and information available here on Bass Resource!!
  14. I was a victim of the knockoff lucky crafts .......... through eBay a few years ago. The bidding for Lucky craft G-splash's started at $.01 (with something like $5.99 shipping on each) I put in the minimum bid on about 10 of them and won them all for a penny apiece. When they arrived they were all out of the package but with plastic hook protectors on them. The hooks were not as sharp as they should have been and the action was not what I expected and the paint job was a little sloppy. I have caught fish on them but one of them I removed the hooks from and use on my key chain. It was months later that I learned of these being sold on eBay as Lucky Craft and someone mentioned that although they had Luck Craft on them, the "C" in craft was lower case and the real Lucky Craft's it was an upper case "C" or the opposite. Either way, it was a lesson learned.
  15. man those are some nice small mouth!!
  16. good pics ........................... I hope the snakehead has drawn it's last breath.
  17. looks like classic spinnerbait structure in the background of your pics too!!
  18. wow those are nice fish!!
  19. I have used them this year with excellent results. Actually don't think I have lost a single fish on one.
  20. I bought a package of these myself but still have not tried them. I have read some similar comments as what you are saying. Did you rig with a large hook? I think it called for a 5/0 for the small one and a 7/0 on the larger one?
  21. those are super cool, I will have to show them to my boys who would have loved that idea for their senior pics, maybe my 16 year old daughter can have a few taken while fishing out of the boat.
  22. I read the same thing on this site http://kerrlake.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=BassFishing&action=display&thread=5329 Our club had a tournament there on Saturday and it was won with 12.45lbs and then dropped to 9lbs for 2nd place. My partner and I boated 18 bass but only ended up with 4 keepers for a whopping 4.5 lbs. The team that won caught the majority of there fish early as they were schooling.
  23. Jeff - I owned a 1996 Ranger Cherokee with a 60 hp Johnson and I loved it. The boat was rated for a 75 hp but even with the 60 it would just jump up on plane with 2 anglers and gear. It would run 42 mph by the speedo but tended to porpoise some. Because it was not a v-hull if it was real windy it tended to blow around a bit. Overall I was very pleased with the performance and quality of the boat and would recommend it.
