  1. Hahaha!!! I was flippin' in the yard yesterday!
  2. Satellite shot of a partially melted lake, or just a frozen puddle in my driveway? Ok, maybe I'm just daydreaming too much now. If that were a lake, though, I'd be all over those channel swings and rocky points!! Come on iceout!!! Can't take much more of this!
  3. Soon now, boys. Very soon (check the date)!
  4. Actually, Booey, My wife so conveniently figured out for me, that for the last 5 years at least, I have spent over $2000 a year on fishing stuff. That comes out to about $166/ mo, so you're ok, buddy! What she don't know, though, is that I also spend quite a bit of my stash "pocket money" on fishing, too, especially in the area of reel upgrades and cleanings, that she doesn't know about. Hahaaa! Anyway, I think those boxes are cool for most bass guys, and definitely worth the subscription price. Ps- good luck with your sale, Nev. Somebody could do a lotta fishin' outta that Ole gal! It's better than my first $500 boat.
  5. I come up to a point, positioning the boat far enough away, so as not to wreck any of my fish on the spot, but castable to the depth I'm targeting. Then, I'll cast up higher than my targeted depth, so say I'm fishing a point that goes from 7', and dumps off into 12', I'm casting up on that 7, and dropping my jig down to the 12'.
  6. Yeah, I'm the same way. I'll start with my best guess as to what the big girls want right up front (also usually a jig), in my best starting spot, and see if I can find her. If not, after thoroughly working it over, I might throw a search type bait to just double check. Some of my favorites, are a light colored bladed jig with a Rage Craw, swim jig and Grub or Menace, or a keel weighted swimbait.
  7. These are actually really good. Thanks for posting, Glenn.
  8. I'm going to keep flippin'. I'm good now after a few years of hard practice and doing a heck of a lot of it, but I want to be as good as the master someday who taught me. It's magic how fast, accurate, and just down right good you can become at it, and it makes a difference, with more fish in the boat. Ps, it's actually pitching I'm talking about, just regionally it's called different things, either pitching or flippin'.
  9. Steak on the grill, and chicken cordon blue. And beer.
  10. No, they're not. Soon, though. And every other beaver-style bait, can go screw itself, because this one is IT!! Ps- the commercial version of this bait, is 4"long.
  11. Oh, and here ya go, guys. Steve Posted the bait pic from Davis, so I don't think he'll mind me showin' you guys here. We were using it in Blue Craw color with some red dye on one side, to make a Tequilla color, and running it on a 5/0 hook and pegged 5/8oz weight. Absolutely crazy!
  12. You want some Menaces? Msg me your info. I'll set you up, bud, if you wanna try 'em out.
  13. Well, can't argue with that!
  14. Haha! Unfortunately, the swimbait isn't coming out this year, so you won't be able to sneek a peek at that for quite some time.
  15. Haha. That's funny. I like Tx, N.C, and NH the Best so far. In that order.
  16. Yeah, right on. Good example, Nev.
  17. That's what I'm talking about, Dwight.
  18. There is, though, A-Jay. Big O is going to El Salto at the end of this month, and the guy he is bringing, is custom making A-rigs just for this trip. He's going to run Pearl Cutt'r Worms on it (cut to about 3/4 length).
  19. Tough and violent is a good way to put it. There were several bone-jarring boat slams on that ride, as he was quartering exactly how you just described. In fact, it was on one of those massively hard slaps, that I believe the trolling motor broke on.
  20. You guys are going to slay the fish. They will all be post spawn, and easy to find. The fish have just recently moved up. Dwight's Hard Gill, and Jeff's jig, will catch some monsters, I promise you. The A-Rig is also catching a ton of slobs down there, and that is going to be fun! I predict, this will be your best trip yet, even though they will be spawned out. Have fun, break all your PB's, and stay safe, fellas.
  21. And wait until you guys see the... wait for it.... The Rage Tail swimbait! Yeah, I said it. Go ahead and soak that all in. That is all.
