  1. Whew! Had my biggest 5 fish weight of the year in NH today. 21 lbs for 5 in a little over 2 hours. The Blue Craw Rage Craw on a Tx rig with a pegged 1/4oz Tungsten was, and has been the ticket for the fish I'm finding in 9-12 fow. The fronts don't even matter any more. You just have to be patient, work slow, and be very persistent, sometimes pitching to the same thing 3 or 4 times to get the bite, but they're there. Watching. Waiting... For a Rage Craw. Kicker!
  2. Rage Craw, Lobster, Chunk, Space Monkey, Baby Craw, Menace, or Single Tail Grub.
  3. Yup. The Rage Rig is a deadly way to rig Craws and Lobsters, as well as many other kinds of plastic baits. I actually have a dedicated Rage Rig rod, and it's almost always with me.
  4. Awesome! Can't wait to take a rip in that new Skeeter!
  5. I had the same problem with my Recon Worms tearing up on me, too, until I was rigging one up in Big O's boat one day. He showed me a better way to Tx rig that worm. The perfect rigging for the Recon Worm, is to use a Moaner Stick'r hook (5/0), and run the point of the hook DIAGONALLY through the bait, so the hook point comes to just under the surface, never poking through the bait, or skin hooking the point in the top of the bait. That hook was designed with a different angle to it, that works for all soft plastics rigged this way, but is almost needed for the Recon to keep it from getting shredded up. I was catching numerous fish on each Recon after that, and they never tear on the cast. http://www.moanerhooks.com/moaner-products/the-stickr%E2%84%A2-hook-moaners-flippin-hook/
  6. How deep was the fish caught? 17' Did the lure contain rattles or have hinges? No ( jig/Lobster) Was the lure a natural color (brown, green) or was it an unnatural color (chartreuse, orange)? Natural Colors If possible, what moon phase was your PB caught during? March 1, 2013 3/4 moon, Waning
  7. Thank you, nmv. That's what I was hoping for. I guess if he ever wants to throw his canoe in there to mess around a little, then whatever, but won't bother with the boat and motor there. Oh, and Nev, tell the boy congrats! That's a great fish!
  8. Just got off Freese's Pond in Deerfield. I spent a couple hours out there, but got skunked. What's up with that place? Anybody ever get on 'em good there, or is it beat? I'd never been there before, but I have a buddy who just moved there, and we figured we'd throw the boat in and check it out. It's really full of pads, and it was tough to get around, so if it sucks, I'll be crossing it off my list forever. Hope ya'll are catchin' 'em good out there!
  9. Keep it up, buddy! You're all over 'em!
  10. Bama is a great color choice for Glenn Lake. That's exactly what the real craws there look like. Nice job, Jitterbug!
  11. Check out Zeko Shoes! I got a pair for fishing at the Classic, and now I'm wanting another pair for just walking around day to day.
  12. Whoever won (Speedbead ? ), please send me your shipping address and what you want for Rage Tails, oh, and Congrats!
  13. I agree, and great job, Bob.
  14. Great fish, congrats!
  15. When you're talking about a degree you're going to be centered on for the rest of your life probably (either chasing a career in the field or paying for the schooling), the last thing you need to be thinking about, is how big are the bass I might be able to catch. I guess, if you want it to be that easy, just hope that The University of Texas offers Marketing as a major.
  16. Cool, man!
  17. My frog rod is a 7'4" Heavy Fast Cumara, and my flippin' stick, is a 7'7" Heavy Fast Cumara. You could probably pull double duty no problem.
  18. Sometimes that big old Anaconda or Recon Worm is deadly in the shallow grass on 1/4oz 5/0 keel weighted hook. I also use the Moaners, and am in love with the new Swimming Stick'R Hook. It tucks the weight in just a touch more, which reduces the weed pickup significantly. Not to mention the hookup ratio with the Stick'R is amazing. Never miss.
  19. I was gonna say punch a Space Monkey or Lobster, too.
  20. Nice job. Tell your buddy congrats on the PB.
  21. A 5/0 will work for all of those baits. Maybe a 4/0 for the Rooster, and 7" Anaconda and Thumper. 3/0 is good for the Lizard, and a 2/0 is perfect for the Grub, Baby Craw, and Menace on a Rage Rig. Moaner now has a keel-weighted hook for those little guys, too. 1/4oz is my standard for that rig, and I can use it in a real wide array of situations.
  22. Yeah, coulda been carp.
  23. That's a pretty fish there, bud. Does look a little bigger than 4.8, but hey, whatever it is, it's a good 'un!
  24. Awesome fish! You did tell me there'd be a decent flippin' bite in May, so I knew we'd be seeing something good soon!
