  1. Holy smokes, what a beast!
  2. The new layout looks great, and has a ton of cool features!
  3. Main river temp is 37-40 degrees, depending on where you are. Up by the discharge, it varies greatly, but you can pretty much bank on it being at least 45-50 if they are pulling water, and as high as around 55 degrees when they are really ripping, but that is rare now. Now that you mention Ma, though, there's a place I'm gonna be hitting soon that holds some 8 pounders, but you can only use electric motors. Should be interesting around the spawn!
  4. Don't worry, Jay, they aint going anywhere until the water in the main river hits the high 40's to 50ish. So if you get the boat back Friday, I'll see you out there Sunday?
  5. Niiiice! Wish I was going down there for the roadtrip. I really gotta get one in one of these years.
  6. Newfound would be a great choice. Just have some natural colored swim jigs, and drop shot baits handy. That place is deeeep and clear! End of May is money up there!
  7. So, yeah. Went out this morning about 7:00 with the bass boat, and it was cooold with that wind. I wasn't the only maniac out there, though. there was one other bass boat putting in right behind me, then another showed up about an hour later. I only stayed out for about 2 hours because it was miserable, and the fishing sucked. my trolling motor froze, so it kept lifting every time I hit the switch, plus I couldn't feel my face, so I wrapped it up quick. I did manage two smallies and one bohemouth bluegill. The funnest part, was when a few little kids over at Memorial Field across the River wanted a show from the bass boat, so I layed into it, and they were cheering and havin' a good time. Man that was a frosty ride, hittin' 60 in 25 degree weather. The good news, is this week is gonna warm up a bit, and I got open water at one of my favorite ponds, so I may hit up some new water here this week.
  8. Nothing. You'd be better off sending all that crap to me. Just kidding, that would be a great combo for drop shots and shakey heads. Between just those two techniques, you'll catch a lot of fish with that setup. Enjoy!
  9. A couple were on Roosters in Okeechobee Craw color, but most were on a keel-weighted Craw.
  10. Thanks, guys. Check these out from today....
  11. Those were cool. My son was mesmerized watching them.
  12. That's not a bad idea, Jay, just hope it's not windy, and you should be all set. I get in some seriously twisted places in my jon boat!
  13. I'd try a drop shot, or a keel-weighted Rooster or Craw up shallow, preferably around submerged brushes and trees.
  14. Peice of cake. Shimano Stradic Ci4, mounted on a 7'med xfast Crucial, and spooled with 8lb Yo Zuri Hybrid.
  15. Here's my first entry. Caught in the Merrimack River, in Bow, NH. The state record smallmouth in NH, is 7lbs,14.5oz. This smallmouth weighed 5lbs,9oz, and was 20.5". I caught her swimming a Rage Craw (prototype color) on a keel-weighted Moaner hook. If my calculations are correct (thanks, Dwight!), my score would be 70.35. I lost one today that was even bigger, so hopefully I will have another entry here soon! Bass boat is hitting the water for the first time this year on Wednesday. I can't wait! Same fish
  16. Wait an extra second, and use good hooks.
  17. Hey, guys, Triple D wanted me to let you know, he's gonna be going too, and might have an open seat on the 23rd. Ps- due to technical difficulties, he couldn't post himself Later!
  18. Should be a great pre spawn bite going on by then there. I know someone who will be swimming a Smokin' Rooster! Watch out now!
  19. I might have a spot for someone, but I won't be there till a little later, so if someone wants to jump in with me when I do get there, that's fine.
  20. Congrats on that beauty!
  21. I've never fished Stumpfield, but it's on my list of places to fish this year. Powdermill didn't do much for me, either, but I don't care where we go.
  22. Those are some amazing shots! Very cool!
  23. No, I wouldn't suggest Turkey. The launch is complete crap, the parking's even worse, and I busted two props there last year. It does have some nice bass, and the biggest pickerel I've ever seen (not that I care). For a group get together, no way, but for a few guys hooking up to fish, sure. By the way, I could do the 23rd, but wouldn't be there till around 2:00 or so, because of work.
