  1. I'll join in. My current PB largemouth is on a topwater bait (Rage Shad), and I expect many more nice ones on the same this year. One question, though. Are out of state or out of New England fish allowed? I ask, because I have two trips to trophy lakes in Virginia planned for May, and if so, it doesn't seem fair, cuz I expect at least a couple out of state monsters. I don't care either way. Cool idea.
  2. Sweet! I can't believe the water is that warm in there already. That's a good day, though for sure.
  3. Nice ones, man! It can be ridiculously fun up there when they are active, and there are some pigs ,too! Glad you guys got on a few.
  4. Interesting thought, Jay, especially for me, since I work in the seacoast region (Newington).
  5. Congrats! That fish is gorgeous!
  6. Nice, nhbassin! Congrats. Where'd you go?
  7. Very nice!
  8. Nice! I beat the mad rush of boaters this morning and bent a rod with a few nice smallies today. Rage Tail Rooster and swim jig/Baby Craw did the damage.
  9. Here in New Hampshire, the bulk of the spawn takes place throughout the month of May. It takes that long for the water in any sizable lakes to hit the mid to upper 50's.
  10. I'm actually debating going with my jon, as well. Not sure yet though. The bass boat is so much easier to pitch out of, even if I never fire up the big motor.
  11. Hey, man, that's cool that you got out. It was nice today. I'm hoping tomorrow is a good one, too ('sposed to be!).
  12. A spinnerbait is a good choice, but for me, the drop shot has been working great. It seems every day I have a chance to get out, it's windy, and the drop shot comes through with good fish every time.
  13. Although I value Nate's expert opinion very highly, I actually think that is a salmon. I caught one that looked very similar to that, and was told it was in fact a salmon.
  14. I can tell you right now, that you don't have to worry about any crazy trailer hook rigging with a Lizard. Just rig it on a 3/0-4/0 EWG hook, and either use a slip sinker or not, depending on depth, wind, etc. My two favorite ways to use a Rage Lizard, are weightless outside weedlines, or on a Carolina rig. The bait has more action than other lizards out there, so when it falls naturally, it's deadly. I also use it during the spawn with a 3/16th oz jig head in spawning areas.
  15. You're doin' just fine. Nice job!

That's awesome, guys. Nice fish, sounds like a great outing!
  17. What you are saying makes sense, but would require different types of equipment to get those readings. Surface temp is just a reference, and is rarely the actual temp our lure is sitting in.
  18. I do have one pond in my area that is thawed as of a few days ago. Haven't made it out there yet, though. Everything looks like it will be ice free in no time, especially with the heat wave coming!
  19. That's the Merrimack River, bro! Hit it up sometime, the smallies are feeding up pretty good.
  20. Couple from today. Sorry, FishingOnTheEdge!
  21. I have my first one on order from JB Custom Rods, so I hope so. The main thing about them, is they eliminate twisting of the blank when under stress, allowing more power, with less chance of breakage. Word on the street, is that the placement of the guides also eliminates line slap, and greatly increases casting distance.
  22. While I certainly agree with 5bass, if I were to pick just 3 colors, I'd go with Falcon Craw, black/blue, and Candy Craw.
  23. You have the right idea with the 10" Anaconda, but if you wanna try something else, I'd recommend the 10" Thumper. That thing puts out some vibes!
  24. Rage Tail Craw Rage Tail Baby Craw Rage Tail Smokin Rooster Rage Tail Anaconda Rage Tail 7" Thumper Rage Tail Shad Rage Tail Lizard Rage Tail Eeliminator
  25. Went out today with a buddy and fought the wind for a couple hours. It was tough to feel my baits, and the fishing was sorta off, but managed a few more descent ones.
