  1. I like this guy better every day. I'm more than happy with what I already own, most expensive reel was only $210.00, Avet mxj.
  2. I wouldn't buy a used car, but if did it not be from a private owner, unless it had 10k miles or less and was the deal of a lifetime. That's definitely buyer beware with no recourse at all.
  3. I've had dos, 95, 98, xp home, xp pro, vista I preferred win 98.
  4. This past Saturday morning, 6 casts, 6 bass, 2 over 5#, per my 20" mark on my rod. That's as far back as my records go.
  5. The reel isn't dead just needs to be repaired. Take it to an expert, shouldn't cost too much.
  6. If it were me I would do something that I can't do at home, there are so many great locations. Fished Mexico more times than I can count with stellar results. This is a real killer place and remote. http://www.costadecocos.com/
  7. Fly leader wallet is a great idea, I just carry leader line with me in my fanny pack along with a few other essentials. Offshore I carry a small tackle bag, I wind my pre made leaders around a piece of cardboard or a top from an old plano box and tape it.
  8. Thanks guys.........I woke up 10:00 last nite and remembered absolutely nothing, I was wired so I went to the ocean at 1:30 this morning, got 1 snook. Banged up my leg falling on a sea wall and on my way to buy some bandages I stopped and did some pond fishing at 7:00, caught 2 lmb that went about 5 each.
  9. Both the 2500 & 3000 will hold plenty of line especially if it's braid. The primary difference between the 2 is ipt & weight of the 2 reels, also the 3000's (in most models) have stronger drag, but if the drag is set where it should be I don't it's a deal maker or breaker. For me the question I ask my self is what am I going to target and where am I fishing? If I'm fishing primarily freshwater I'd go with the 2500, if an occasional salt trip is planned I'd get 3000.
  10. Of course the Dr. prescribed them and from what I was led to believe it's common practice now for what I had done. I feel great just waiting for tide change to go fishing.
  11. If wanted to upgrade a reel, I would be happier giving my old reel that's in good condition to a worthy recipient rather than a 20 or 30 discount.
  12. Had my first surgery of a 1 year process this morning. Amazing I took 2 sleeping pills 1 hour before my appointment, don't even remember seeing the Dr. or getting anaesthesia, woke up at home dinner time and have no recall of the event.........great way to. BTW driving home was a little tough....j/k, my wife took me.

  14. For less than 200 a stradic fi is a winner, better handle than the c-14 imo. Since I bought my first supreme, I now have 3, 2 fresh 1 saltwater, my stradic fi collects dust and I think the stradic is terrific, that says how I feel about the supreme, no advantage to the xt. I don't think you need to spend more than a 100 for a freshwater spinning reel, spend more and you are the fish being reeled in.
  15. Nothing like sweetouchnee tea, robust with lots of flavor. Old timers drink it from a glass with a cube of sugar between their teeth....eastern European fare. Most teas are terrible weak, I'll take Jamaican Blue Mountain.
  16. Bank, sneakers or wading boots with socks, fire ants everywhere here. Beach, crocs or sandals, never barefoot, you never know what is washing up on shore in the middle of the night. Offshore, deck shoes with traction.
  17. I find that term " grease monkey" to be highly derogative and I salute men or women in that profession, especially if you can start your own business and control your destiny, back alley mechanics can't make it any as there is a higher degree of sophistication required these days. As far as seniority goes, imo 2 people with same credentials with the major difference being time on the job, I would look for the employee with the better attitude, ethics and potential. As mentioned above these corporations are taking advantage of the present economic conditions, back in the 90's signing bonus' were very common, not so so today. Capitalism is great if you're Warren Buffet or Bill Gates , you are nothing but chattel at the whim of some one higher up in the system. The object of any Corporation is to make money for their shareholders and if they can make the same $$ with less employees that's what they are going to do, they do not care about job creation. No matter if you make 10k a year or 1 million a year there is no job security.
  18. Only BR is running poor on my computer, at times it's fine but mostly in the afternoon it's terrible. I have tried IE, chrome and firefox the problem is the same. I'm not an expert but I do know my equipment is working properly, it can only be a site or host problem.
  19. I disagree with the article, these Haitians are a victim of a natural disaster, even countries that have economic resources would still need help, water, food, medical, clean up and relocation of orphaned babies and children that cannot defend for themselves. Under normal conditions I am not a fan of nation building, but in this case I support it. Everyone knows the reason why they are poor so I won't get into a political conversation about.
  20. I stand by what I said, by enlarge workers tend to over rate themselves but there are always exceptions. Quality control for example was very poor in this country until jobs were in jeopardy, then in vastly improved, amazing ! Much of had to do with management but the blame can't be totally put on them, labor had a big hand as well. As far as my companies went I never fired or laid off anyone, you had the job for life or as long as the company was in business. If I recall you are in the slitting business, I bought a small slitting co in Oak Park out of bankruptcy(one of scrap customers)only 1 60" line, closed it down 3 years later and got my employees new jobs with a slitter I knew on the east east side off Groesbeck.
  21. I fish nothing but spinning and use nothing but braid. 10# for lakes and ponds, 15# for canals, need a bit of strength to lift them from a high banks.
  22. I owned a company 30 years, in addition several other companies during that period as well. Being involved primarily with industry I have been in 100's of plants and auto factories. Despite any propaganda I've heard about the American worker being the best...........it ain't so ! I have seen workers while visiting other countries and frankly I was very impressed. Honestly the best workers we ever had were immigrants, legal of course. I don't think this is the right forum to discuss where these people come from or the countries I have visited, could be construed as political.
  23. Most often seen are the words "limited lifetime warranty", limited is there for a reason, it's their loophole, and it's for the benefit of the company. We as consumers allow all companies, and I'm not just singling this one out, to honor warranties as they see fit, a practice that needs to be changed. Singly they care less about your business but they do in volume such as 25,000 bass resource members not to mention other forums as well. It's time for a petition with 20 or 40 maybe 100,000 signatures vowing to switch brands if not amended. I wouldn't be surprised to see their policy altered. I'm not gifted enough to draft a proper petition, just tell me WHERE DO I SIGN !! Most of the time warranties are honored in a proper way, but not always. I had a warranty denied for using an oil other than the manufacture's brand ( the oil was recommended by an authorized dealer too). Do auto companies void a warranty if jiffy lube did your oil change, or doing it yourself, instead of the dealer where you purchased?
  24. Not me......... Freshwater 1 rod and lure, 2-3 lures in my pocket Saltwater 1 rod, xrap, spoon, top lure, jig in my pocket. I never go blank. Back up rod in car in case of mechanical failure.
  25. For a hundred nothing comes close the Pflueger supreme. I have 3 and bought them all for around 80.00
