Berkley Gulp Saltwater in Freshwater?
Doa cal paddle tails are great, but I recently bought some mirrolure saltwater paddle tails and they are a bit heavier and lot more durable.

Beauties on the golf course.
Peacocks are hot in some areas, be happy to turn you on, I have knowledge on where to go. Out of curiosity what golf course are you fishing, it's probably private so I couldn't fish it anyway?

Confidence is Key
Lived on one of those inland lakes, Cass Lake in Commerce Mi. Sill have to find them, once you do either they are on or off, the bass have a big say no matter what you are throwing at them. Once you have learned all the answers, the questions get changed.

Birthday rod and reel =)
If you are fishing bay you are probably fishing open water, imo 65# too heavy, I'd go 20# braid. Under those conditions I use mono, my conventional has 20# p line floroclear and have 2 8000 spinners, 17# trilene and the other one is 20# shakespere supreme. The line strength is of no issue. BTW drift boats use 40# bulk mono and they catch fish up to 100# on occasion. I don't know what species you are targeting but I would be prepared to take the steel leader off and go with 40 or 60# mono leader.

Couple of Juvies
I have posted some snook pictures earlier in the year but I now longer carry a camera. Much of the time I'm alone in the dark and it's too difficult to hold fish those size and take a pic.my arm is too short...hehe. Honestly most of the people I fish with and around could care less about a pic or a weight, few if any carry a scale or camera. People love seeing hawgs on here, but they don't care about slobs ;D

Couple of Juvies
Caught a couple of juvies today, 25# tarpon. 17lb class 7'6 redbone, cardinal 804 with 15# braid. 1 spit the hook next to the pier and I had to shimmy down the side pier to unhook the second one. I carry a belt to strap my rod to the pier so it doesn't get pulled over when I'm going down.

What rod and reel for red fish
You may want to check a saltwater board and get if form people that fish for them everyday. Redfish are not much different than snook, which I catch daily. I don't know what's popular in Texas for them but I do in Florida. IMO b/c or spinning,( most use spinning in this part of the world) a 17 or 20 lb class rod, 4000 spinner or b/c equivalent 15-20 braid, all you need. Backbone is way more important that sensitivity, you get a strike believe me you will know. I see many tarpon and snook fisherman using ugly sticks very effectively. Tackle is easy, you can get it all in your pocket, don't need much. Plastic flukes on jig heads, feathers, xraps, spoons, and a top lure. I have my favorites but they all work fine.

Berkley Gulp Saltwater in Freshwater?
They work just fine, have used them or similar , in fact I only use saltwater soft baits in freshwater.

how do you keep gnats,or no seeums off you?
It has been a much worse than normal year for the no seeums. I'm on the beach almost every morning before sunrise. Not all are effected, much of the attraction has to do with your own pheromones attracting them. Many days no one is bothered by them except me...., I have real sweet blood. I have tried everything, with zero results and insect spray seems to attract them rather than repelling them. I now wear long pants and long t shirt or wind breaker with a scarf around my face....I still get bit, but not as bad. I have a friend that swears buy this line of clothing. http://www.exofficio.com/product_results.aspx?page=LIST&free_text|1211385058736=buzz%20off%20clothing&cm_mmc=Google-_-Buzz%20Off-_-Buzz%20Off%20Variations-_-buzz%20off%20insect%20shield&gclid=CNWZ8p_V6JsCFQY9xwodzlRh7w

Bad experience on lake today
A tetanus shot may be a good idea. Had to go ER myself about a year ago, hook buried in my thumb.......not fun.

A hypothetical question
If you want real a trophy fish you have to go where they're at. Just catching something that puts a nice U bend in the pole works great for me, no need to look for any records.

Question about Pros ???
I'm sure this is common place in fishing as with golf. A pro golfer on tour may be hitting a Taylor Made driver with a Callaway or Nike headcover on it. Bag may say Nike but he is hitting Cleveland irons and hitting a Titleist ball, this is very common. I wouldn't be surprised if a pro fisherman may have a patch or 2 on his shirt saying one thing and they are fishing with something else. That being said I pay no attention to a pro fisherman or golfer regarding equipment.

break in...
In most cases personal property stolen or vandalized from your auto will be covered by your home owner's policy and not the theft on your car. Don't know what your deductible is but small claims aren't worth it. If you have a $500 deductible and you lost $ 1000 worth of stuff it isn't worth the risk of claim as the insurance companies love to cancel your policy after a couple of claims.

Buy off lease, if not buy new. Many auto's have forums that you can join and get some info, I joined the forum of my new car.

Polarized glasses for over my eyeglasses?
I prefer flip ups to fitovers, some of the time I don't need or want sunglasses and it's one less thing to carry. My flip ups have performed equal to any prescription polarized sunglasses I have bought. Some people make an issue of light filtering in from the side, an easy remedy are shop safety guards that slip on to your glasses.

PB country and Broward Canals
There's a medical clinic north side right on Glades, I caught about 6-7lb there under the bridge a year or 2 ago, it's brackish water there. Better spot than the spillway is next to the hospital, park in the lot and walk to the canal(behind apt complex, you can park there too). Like most of those places shore fishing is very limited there. There is a pond next to the canal that holds some nice LMB.

I CAUGHT MY FIRST!! (Pictures of..)
Rays and sharks, both in the same family, love hugging the bottom and pull real strong, I think rays more so, we catch them down here in Fla quite a bit. Spinner sharks on the other hand are jumpers and a ball to catch, in the backwater sightcasting we use plastic jerkbaits for them.

New Volvo vs. Bambi
Fourbizz and Bassn have it right. Cars today are designed to collapse, absorb energy and hopefully leave the cockpit intact. I miss the styling of the 60-70's but cars today are much better. Safer by far and twice the mileage. Volvo has always been on the forefront of safety. I hear people complaining about the cost of fuel but this is the reality. In the 60's we paid between 30-40 per gal and the average car cost $3000 or so and most people earned $150-175 a week. Use a multiple of 10 for today's economy, average pay maybe 1000-1500 a week gas 3 bucks but we get 20 mph instead of 10 or less and that $3000 car probably costs around 30k. You will find that in the 60's we paid about 5-6% of our income for gas, and today it works out to about 2.5% of our gross income for gas. Anyone remember gas wars at 12.9 per gal? ( 1961)

Go Tommy Go!
I was really rooting for him (Watson) but he got tight on 18 and you could see he was fatigued during the playoff. It still was an outstanding achievement. Take nothing away from Cink..........he plain won it.

95 degrees no wind no clouds and I thoughtI was gonna die
It isn't the temperature but the humidity and the intensity of the sun, we're a bit closer to the equator and I definitely notice the difference. I've played golf in Palm Springs in 100+ heat and it really wasn't bad at all, 15%-20 % humidity. Btw the highest recorded temperature is in Libya at 136 degrees. Not saying 156 didn't happen in Iraq ,but I see no record of anything close to that so it may have been a wee bit of stretch. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_weather_records#Highest_temperature_ever_recorded

PB country and Broward Canals
Little spillway near FAU off 4th, high tide can be ok there. The big snook are holding at the w.palm, boynton and delray spillways. The inlets have been producing many in the 15-25lb. The canals are great in the spring before the water warms up.
