  1. I know 2 people that have used the program, and yes they are continuing it. I think it's a great plan for consumers who could not afford the down payment for a new car and incentive for those to get rid of their guzzlers. The dealers are getting people in the showroom now I just heard today that sales are doing well, good for the economy and good for everyone. I was hoping to qualify for my wife's car but our mileage is good already, but it's given us incentive to go car shopping, some nice buys around.
  2. You never see the class rank of a doctors diploma.
  3. First time I really got a little shook from a gator. I gave up taking a camera, it's the kiss of death for me. Thank you for appreciating some of my fish outings.

Went to the canal behind my home yesterday and was tossing a rage tail frog. All of a sudden I saw a gator swimming across the canal and getting ready to climb the high bank. I backed up quickly and went thru the gate, knowing the gator can't open it.........lol, went home and changed my soiled undies and didn't venture out the rest of the day. One of the bigger gators I have seen in a while.
  5. I have the trion 20 with 4# mono and the supreme30 with 10# braid, both spool up just fine. You may try having a tackle shop spool one up and see if there is a difference. I'm having a similar problem with a 4000 spheros and that's what I'm going to do, never had the problem on the spheros before.
  6. There isn't enough room to list all my clubs, past and present. I've been anal about everything matching and I've gone with mix and match as well. I really have no preference except to put the ball into the hole and use what ever it takes. In the past 20 years I probably have bought some where around 15 sets of irons, but I ALWAYS go back to my favorite set. Original callaway s2h2 with a memphis 10 shaft, 2-lob. I'd love to eliminate graphite (which I own) shorten golf ball length and put the emphasis on the game back to shot making.
  7. Any fly fishing shop will have forceps (hemostats, roach clips)
  8. Reggie Jackson....Sat next to me at Tiger Stadium the night before Oakland was to play the tigers, 1971 or 72. Never met a more down to earth super guy before. He walked around the section with a wad of money in his hand betting(small bets) people what each player would do at bat or if the pitcher were going to throw a strikeout, things of the nature, needless to say he won most of the bets. Everyone in the stands loved him, he's a great guy.
  9. Sorry.........I read as meaning cudas were loners, which they are not. I see groups of bass corralling their bait much the same as sailfish do, except with sails it's only 3 or 4 of them.
  10. I'm with Fishing Rhino, 1st and only wife for me. Divorce, never a real thought, but a fantasy at times........haha. Knowing scores of people that have ex's, believe me it's not just the women that can be assh.....
  11. I don't know if they make smaller b/c with lever drags but my Avet mxj has one and I prefer it, it's also left handed.
  12. I live in a community with 6 man made ponds and when they spray the vegetation the fishing is very spotty. Give it about 4-6 weeks and it gets back to normal.
  13. I absolutely agree about hunting and protection, but not about the cuda comparison. Much of the time cuda do travel in small packs, see this everyday on the incoming tide. See one and there are others nearby, as they swim nearly 30 mph they don't have to be next too each other to be in a pack, bass swim about 12 mph, I believe . Hook a cuda and several are almost always following. I think a muskie is a better example of a loner fish.
  14. The redfish I've caught in south Florida have been by accident while fishing for snook. I'm kinda guessing redfishing is quite similar to snook fishing which is a lot like bass fishing. What affect does the tide play in redfishing? Snook fishing is only about tide.
  15. IMO less than 3/10 of an ounce is insignificant, go with what you think the better reel is.
  16. I've yet to see anyone use a scale to set the drag, everyone I know just does it by feel, it isn't rocket science. I'm also one these guys that adjusts the drag while the fish is on, that's part of the fun of playing a fish. If I have little 2 or 3 # fish on, I have no qualms in easing up on the drag and let it run a bit, that's why I'm there.
  17. I don't care what line you use, but to base your purchase on the spool size is not the way to go. If you buy a spool with 110 yds, just use some backing.
  18. We don't have a lot of redfish in my part of Florida but I have caught some and they are AWESOME. I'm going to Tybee Island, GA next month and they are supposed to have some nice reds there.
  19. I'm a saltwater fisherman and I own many cardinals. I have the old 800 series 802 and and 804, the sororn 40 and the 704. Personally I don't care for the 600 for 1 basic reason, the drag is not waterproof, the others are...........these are good reels. For you or others considering a new floog president xt, it has no waterproof or sealed drag either, the medalist does.
  20. The underwater camera is no more cheating than using electronic device fishfinder, I've yet to use one. No space filler in this house......been using one almost daily for years, the treadmill is what got my wife back on the road to recovery from a stroke 15 years ago. For the record I left it in Michigan, we can swim and walk daily here in Florida.
  21. Walked in to Sports Authority and they had some Xraps #10 in the bargain bin for $4.90, had a sign advertising buy 2 get the 3 rd free so I cleaned them out 12 xraps for about $40., I was happy.
  22. I don't put much stock into online recommendations, people have their favorites, and you will always see both good and bad reviews for the identical rod. I keep a keen eye on what's being used in the water and willing to take a chance, sometimes it doesn't work out right but hey it's only as rod. In the past week or so I purchased and returned about 5 rods, I used 2 of them, my local tackle shop is more interested in keeping me as a long time customer than quick sales..............hopefully I hit on the right 1 yesterday.
  23. I can understand people wanting to be their own reel mechanic, but it doesn't work for me. I would prefer to let a qualified tech take care of any repair needs, a few days and a few bucks and my equipment is perfect.
  24. The rod holds and moves the fish, the reel no matter b/c, spinning or even fly retrieves line. The "winch" explanation is simply a thought that doesn't cut it in my book, the spool is turning and picking up line regardless which way it's mounted on a reel. If one is to believe the "winch" theory, then it would apply to a spinning reel as well. I will admit to the eye a conventional reel looks like it could be a winch and the spinner doesn't.
  25. I spent the first 58 years of my life there, the best action is on the Canadian side ( Lake St Clair). I'd pick 1 of those northern California lakes.
