How to be a better jig fisherman
You should be committed. LOL I could throw a jig all day every day and not get sick of it. Pick 2 colors. Throw a standard jig with trailer and a mop jig with trailer in both colors. My 2 colors would be PB&J and Black&Blue

Fishmas 2020
I'm in on one condition. Whomever gets me needs to buy gear for a 4 year old boy. No lures. He could use a new kids combo, since grandpa broke his Spider Man combo. Rocket bobbers are good. Maybe a tacklebox. Deak, make sure they know this. Here's a shameless pic and a story to make ya'll feel guilty. My grandson lost his dad to heroin this year. Dad wasn't around anyway but now he's gone for good. My little guy loves to fish. I pray to God that a healthy hobby will keep him away from the demons that took his father. Please refrain from any sympathy in this thread as I believe the kid is better off this way. It still sucks he doesn't have a dad and right now It's up to myself and his other grandfather to set him on a path to success.

What is your craziest fishing story?
A few years back I took dad to Sturgeon Bay. On day one, we struggled for the first 3 hours catching only 2 or 3 fish. Then we found the motherload. We caught dozens of 3-6lb smallies over the next 4 hours with multiple PB's being caught for both of us. Did a spring trip to Kentucky Lake maybe 12 years ago. Probably caught 200 bass in 3 days with a 3 pound average, including my PB largemouth which was close to 7lbs.

- Think you are smarter than us older generation people?
Been a long time but I think hers had vinyl.- Think you are smarter than us older generation people?
I'm pretty sure the Charger was relatively rare for that year. That was the year of the Chrysler Cordoba and Ricardo Montolban was the spokesperson. The Chrysler had Corinthian leather- Think you are smarter than us older generation people?
Ex wife had one when we dated in high school. Car was dark green with a 318.- Qualifying for concealed carry
Illinois ccw qualifier is 30 rounds and 70% need to be within the silhouette and the instructor keeps the target. 10 rounds @ 5 yards, 10 @ 7-1/2 yards and 10 @ 10 yards.- Making the leap
Get a full size handgun or a shotgun for home defense. The LC9 is a concealed carry piece.- Good Deal for a Jon Boat?
You can by new tires/wheels at Tractor Supply, Harbor Freight, or Menards. It takes a lot of force to break a prop, I would be a bit concerned that their is damage to the trolling motor. So, as far as a good deal, yes it's worth $350, but expect to put some $$$ into it. As far as good for you, the wife, and the kid, figure the boat will hold about 600lbs total weight. That would be people, gear, the trolling motor and battery, cooler, and what not.- The battle continues
Better you than me:)- Smoking meat
I'm missing the key ingredient- Smoking meat
I haven't done tenderloin, but I make a killer venison jerky- The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread

Never heard of it- Smoking meat
No secret to vegetables. Never smoked corn but I do cook them on the pellet grill. When I do veggies, I put them in a cast iron pan and use veggies and shrooms. Green onions, green peppers, jalapeno peppers, broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, maybe some other stuff. I mix everything in olive oil and garlic pepper and smoke it for maybe an hour at 220* Corn is starch. Probably why you said it was bitter.- The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
If you didn't realize it was blurred, I think I am the sober one...but not for long- The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
Were you drunk taking the picture or am I drunk now?- Smoking meat
Haven't done a brisket. I've got a Camp Chef pellet grill/smoker and I have no complaints. I've smoked fruits, vegetables, chicken, pork, lamb, deer, beef ribs, fish, bacon, probably some other stuff. A lot of smoking is trial and error. I do like the pellet grill option which allows me to add smoke flavor to meat and fish while not technically smoking it. I've cooked crabs, lobster, shrimp, and crawdads in the pellet grill adding smoke flavor via a smoke tube. I'm going to smoke water one of these days. I heard about it elsewhere. Smoke water and freeze it in an ice cube tray. Use the ice to add smoke flavor to bourbon as well as other drinks. My next experiment is going to be bread pudding. Haven't done a turkey as of yet. My brother-in-law smokes and deepfrys turkey's for thanksgiving so I'll leave it up to him. He uses a BGE.- Fishmas 2020
What if we don't have pms?- Think you are smarter than us older generation people?
Been some time since I did work on a car besides basic maintenance. 30 years ago I could be found laying on my back underneath my Cutlass swapping out a transmission and nowadays the best I'll do is swap out a set of plugs. The necessity for me to do the work is no longer there. I gave up doing brakes probably 10 years ago. I've installed both hardwood and tile floors, drywall, both rough and fine carpentry, and electrical work. My background is in commercial refrigeration. I'm 50 and crippled. Destroyed my shoulder in 2012. Between that and arthritis, I'll pass. I do still like to tinker around with stuff but I'll leave the heavy work to the young guys.- How exactly do fish manage to appear in literally every body of water?
Nature has a way of figuring things out. When your only purpose in life is to survive and to procreate the species, then that's what you do. - Think you are smarter than us older generation people?
