The only lakes I have fished managed by the TVA are KY lake and Guntersville. I've caught smallies on KY lake not on G'ville. I don't recall seeing large schools of shad on KY

If TVA had the food resources the Great Lakes offer, records could be broken regularly. It takes 20 years or longer to grow a seven pound smallmouth up north. If TVA had an abundance of gobies, smelt, cisco, and aelwife's the potential for a 15lb smallie might be realistic.

I am/was a journeyman pipefitter. I'm still in the industry, just in a different capacity. I'm in sales now rather than turning wrenches. Anyway, I still fish most every weekend. This year will be different. I'm selling my boat looking into getting something a little bigger and a little more family friendly. This will be my first year boatless since 1997.

My left shoulder popped out of the socket from a work accident 11 years ago. The first 2 surgeries were in the shoulder joint itself. The 3rd surgery I had was called scapular muscle reattachment. It's still a newish surgery and in 2014 I was still part of the research group, patient #300. The doc that performed the surgery was the doc that pioneered the surgery. I tore the rhomboid and trapezoid muscles off my shoulder blade. The doc drilled a bunch of holes in my shoulder blade and just sutured the muscles back onto the shoulder blade. Had I not had the 3rd surgery, I could have very well just committed suicide from the constant pain and 24/7 headaches which wrapped around my jaw and ran down my spine. I had also lost about 90% function of my left hand and 70% function of my left arm. The constant pain and weakness was from muscle spasms because my shoulder was cocked funny. I know my limits now. I still deal with pain 24/7 today but I'm not going to kill myself over it. My left shoulder/arm/hand can function at maybe 60-70% on a good day. I have torn at least one of the repaired muscles away and I will never go thru such a surgery again. The recovery was absolutely horrible and i wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.

I had Rhinoliner in my Tundra. The bed in the Tundra rusted thru after 10 years and the Rhinoliner just bubbled up where it rusted thru. The Rhinoliner was stronger than the truck bed. I didn't go with it on the Ford because I'm really not hauling stuff in the bed anymore.

I'll agree with you to a point. Doctors aren't worried about getting sued because someone wants to go fishing. If fishing turns into an opioid addiction to deal with the pain, well that's something he may need to worry about. I would have never even considered suing my doctor for additional injuries I may have received just going thru my daily activities including fishing. There was a period of about 2-1/2 years, prior to my 3rd surgery, where I couldn't bass fish for more than 2-3 hours without being in excruciating pain and then take 2 days to recover from 3 hours of fishing. Adapt and overcome. I do the best I can with what I've got...and it's just fishing. It still takes me 2 or 3 days to recover from fishing hard but I can spend 8-12 hours on the water now rather than just 2.

I have Ford's version of WeatherTech mats in my F250 and the reason I got those rather than WeatherTech is because I had a neighbor who was a parts manager for a Ford dealership and I got them for next to nothing. The WeatherTech factory is an hour from me. I do have the WeatherTech bed liner and bed cover on my truck and bought a trunk liner for my daughters Altima. I can't say enough about the quality of their products.

It's just fishing. The fish will still be there after you recover. I've had 3 shoulder surgeries and I'm legally disabled. I can't fish like I used to pre-injury so, I don't fish like I used to post injury. I stopped fishing competitively and have broadened my horizons to include other species besides bass.
