While Coronavirus may or may not be a threat, we have yet to see. The widespread panic is purely politically motivated. The bird flu was going to wipe out the planet. Sars was going to wipe out the planet. West Nile and Zika were going to wipe out the planet.... No better way to control the masses than putting the fear of God into them.

Years ago I launched at a river spot I used to fish frequently. I was in a 17ft boat with a 90hp and I struggled fishing because of the high water/current. Was never a safety issue, just a pain in the ass to fish. When I came back to the launch, there was a guy with 2 kids in a 16ft jon. He was having trouble starting the motor, maybe a 15 or 20hp pull start. I told him the current was high and fishing was slow, and he might want to rethink going out. Guy ignored me. Dam is 2 miles downstream from the launch. His motor died again when he got caught up in the current. I went back out and offered him a tow. He got the motor running again and declined. I imagined he survived, otherwise I would have seen it on the news. As far as being that stupid...they are out there.

There are, at least 2 sizes, maybe more. So no, you can't just use any prop. There is a difference between the 24v and 36v props and pins. I don't know if there is a difference between the 12v and 24v props.

Row boats and rented boats, first real boat I owned was a used ski boat. On my 2nd real fishing boat now. I still have a little row boat which I will be handing over to my son this spring.

I sometimes wonder if they do it on purpose. They get wound up and kill for the hell of it. I've seen the behavior in aquarium fish. Almost as if they are killing the bait to prevent other fish from eating it.

I think I'd be more comfortable spending that kind of money on a high end YETI cooler or similar. If the mechanical (compressor) cooler fails, you're screwed. BTW, there is nothing wrong with keeping the fish in a fridge for a few days before freezing them. Ideally, if you could get crushed/shaved ice and a YETI or similar cooler, you'd be golden, and not have to be worried about the mechanical cooler/freezer failing. Mind you, I'm also a journeyman refrigeration mechanic by trade, or used to be. That's a story for another day. Ice has 2 variables which influence it. The ability to reject heat and the ability to reject moisture. In a heavily insulated medium (the YETI or similar) the variables will be kept in check or reduced to a minimum. When you add an outside influence (mechanical cooler/freezer) you have added more areas where it could fail. I'm not downplaying the cooler as I know nothing of it. The cooler/freezer also requires a 12/24v power source. If your truck/vehicle is parked and not generating 12vdc power to this cooler, where does that leave you? Can you plug the cooler into a 120v outlet with a DC inverter Lots of questions to ask.

Is this for a camping situation? If not, why bother? I might be a panfish hoarder on some occasions. I have been known to harvest 30-50 panfish during prespawn/spawn per outing. It takes me 3-4 hours to clean/filet that many bluegills or crappies. If I don't have time, a 5 gal bucket packed with ice will hold the fish over until I can get to them the following day.

If the Twin Cities is anything like the Chicago area, there could be over a dollar difference per gallon depending on city and county taxes. Crook County, where I live, has the highest fuel taxes in the state and Chicago has the highest city fuel tax in the county. The state tax doubled from .19 to .38 per gal last year, one of the highest in the country. I can drive 15 minutes west or 15 minutes south and save .20-.40 per gal by getting out of Crook County. I think as long as we continue to produce our own oil and not rely on OPEC and the middle east to dictate our market we are good to go on a national basis. Remember that this November.

I've always had gimbal mount graphs at both the bow and helm. If I sell my Lund early enough this year, I'm looking into getting a Ranger 1880MS or Triton Allure 186. The flush graphs have a clean look to them. Aside from the obvious (theft) is there any reason not to have them flush mounted at both locations? How will the graph hold up to outside winter storage where 0 to negative 5* is common if not lower temps. Anything else I should be concerned with?

Black and white photos seem to tell a story better than color photos. We recently went thru boxes of photos that my recently deceased 84 year old aunt had either taken or acquired. While most of the photos were discarded, we saved pictures of my families ancestors. The best find was a picture of my grandfather, who had passed away 4 years prior to me being born. Hobart has a nice welder that can be had for around $400 and youtube videos are free. That being said....There are many different ways to do things the "right way". Money seems to be the biggest obstacle. The right way to some might be to last a season and the right to others might be to last a lifetime. We shouldn't confuse the two.
