Been fishing the Chain since 2004. Summertime bite is tough. What do you want to know?

Neighbors house exploded 1/2 a block from me. You never know.

I’m in love!!!
You can doubt me all you want. I never claimed to be the master. Jig fishing takes patience. I have patience. Jig fishing is a quality, not quantity rig, Hence the patience.

Gander Outdoors?
Gander Outdoors will soon go the way of its predecessor. Camping World should have changed the name rather than try to revive a failing brand.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
What a beautiful evening. Not fishing, just chilling in the back yard. No humidity, 70* just listening to the birds chirp.

I'm not sure of the theory behind the cake, but kudos to the cake decorator. Looks really cool

Multiple Species question
If A Jays jerkbait doesn't work, my second choice would be a swimjig with a paddletail.

Garmin Force Trolling Motor: Video!
Built in imaging transducer and zero RFI are what I like. BUT, it would cost me 10 grand to upgrade motor and graphs. Glenn, Maybe a BR giveaway is in order?

That doesn't look like a Coast Guard Cutter.

Jack of all trades..master of none!
You need to find fish before you can catch them. Finding fish could mean graphing them. It could mean fishing cover and structure. It could mean researching fishing reports and topo maps. If I am fishing familiar water for fun, I fish history. If I am fishing unfamiliar water for fun, I fish based on reports and maps AND history. History on unfamiliar water you say? Yup. Fishing cover can be done every body of water, even if you are not familiar with it. I know that cover should hold fish no matter what lake I am fishing.

Hook issue
Hooks are too good. Problem I'm having is removing the hooks without damaging the fish. Hooks are Strike King Jointed Structure Head rigged with craws or creature baits. I love the set up. Love the hook up ratio. I have to use pliers to remove the hooks on EVERY single fish. Hook always lands in the upper side jaw, often thru the basses eye. Don't have the issue with any other bait. Something I'm doing wrong or is there a less lethal option as far as a weighted swivel head hook?

I would have dropped dead from the heat. Navy blue and 102* doesn't mix well in my book

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Tried a spot I haven't fished in a couple years. Besides a couple 5lb cats, these were the 2 big fish of the day.
