I'm not set on Toho and already got recommendations for a guide on Butler.

I have to put fuel with ethanol in my boat. No other option. I have a plastic tank and ethanol rated fuel lines. While I agree 100% that ethanol treated fuel is bad for an outboard, the experiment in the video is biased. No one stores their equipment for 9 months, and if they do, they should rethink their priorities. Secondly, the treated fuel is being stored in my tank during a "winterization" There will be little fuel, or none at all, soaking the injectors/carbs etc. The fuel will be in the tank and possibly the lines before the injectors/carbs. All plastic/or whatever it's made of...and treated for ethanol. If you all can get ethanol free gas, more power to you. I can't.

Yes. If there's water in the lower unit from a bad seal, you risk freezing and causing damage.

I've owned boats for over 20 years. Never removed them and froze the first one 4 years ago. I have stored them in the house since. If they will not be on a trickle charger, make sure they are fully charged and disconnected from the boat. Modern motors and stereos are a parasitic drain on the battery.

Might head down before Christmas, possibly after. Worth it to get a guide for a half day or not worry about fishing and just deal with the women and children? I've fished Toho once in February with little success. Is December any different?

I have a 2013 Lund and have the Premium Shoreland'r trailer from 2013. Came with LED lights, plastic inserts on the metal fenders, swing tongue, dual axle and surge brakes, load guides, boat buckles, marathon tires, bearing buddies. The brakes and rear hubs were replaced under warranty the first season along with refastening the plastic fender inserts. The wheels and lug nuts were cosmetically affected after they saw their first bit of road salt. The Lug nuts started to rust and the clear coat on the wheels peeled up in a few places. Fast forward to today. The frame is still solid. The finish (I believe powder coating) has faded some but there are no chips or rust. The load guides are rusted and need replacing. Bunks and carpet are still in good shape. Fender inserts have come loose again and need to be refastened. Boat buckles are still working well, I lubricate them every year. I replaced the winch strap once. I replaced the tires after 5 seasons as a preventative measure. Bearings and bearing buddies were replaced last season as a preventative measure. It's going to need a new trailer jack in the near future. All in all, the trailer is not a bad trailer. It loads well and tows well. I wouldn't hesitate towing cross country with it, 600 miles has been about the max as of yet. Were I to give it a grade, I'd give it a A- as far as functionality, reliability and longevity. Maybe a C- for cosmetics.

Don't have the one mentioned. I bought a Craftsman orbital polisher maybe 10+ years ago. I used it a few times and it has been sitting in my garage collecting dust. I'd rather do it by hand.

Since you're from Canada, why not look at Lund or Princecraft. Both brands should be readily available and both make a quality boat.

I have a Cabelas 600 denier polyester universal cover for a 20'-22' v hull boat. It was used for a total of 2 weeks while I was getting a custom cover made. You can have it for $50 plus shipping. Think I paid close to 2 bills for it. As far as it being universal, it is. I made some supports out of pvc to keep it propped up so the water would shed off.

Realistically, this is a good business plan for a service trade in general. When loss of money/business, to your customers is involved, things should be prioritized thru your dispatcher. Customers that spend a lot of money and pay their bills on time, should get priority. After that, priority should be specific to your trade. I was a journeyman commercial hvac/r mechanic before an injury knocked me out of the trade. Once we take care of our bread and butter customers, customer financial loss took precedence over comfort. A refrigerated warehouse takes precedence over a restaurant. An ice rink takes precedence over an office. Process/manufacturing takes precedence over all the above, but this goes back to the bread and butter customers. Customers who rely on their equipment to make money, are the first ones to spend the money when the equipment goes down.
