Might be the case. My son already brought up that I'm the only one in the family who doesn't work for myself.

I had a 798 on my old boat and now a 998 on my new boat. When I can get the funds, an 1198 will be next. It might just be my eyes. My son could see the 798 just fine, but I always found myself struggling, as do I with the 998. As WayneP said anything is better than nothing.

To expand on what you said. This past weekend I was running a section of the Wisconsin River looking for ledges and looking for walleye on those ledges. While searching with the side imaging, I also located numerous trees in the middle of the river that, without side imaging, I NEVER would have found.

I've got a meeting with the lawyer Monday and need to talk to him before I call the BA. As far as the welding is concerned I'm still having trouble with a couple fingers working properly, although I have seen improvement in the last couple months. Help me make some lemonade. As some of you know I was injured at work last year. Last week I was released back to work with permanent work restrictions. Needless to say, I was let go. I'm not looking for legal advice, I already have an attorney. What I am looking for is suggestions on a new career path. I had planned to retire in this trade but life had other plans. My background is in commercial refrigeration and hvac and I'm a journeyman. The hvac trade is a combination of a number of trades including electrician, plumbing, refrigeration, construction, etc. I've done that for the last 15 years, and drove a truck for ten years prior to that. I also dabbled in auto detailing. I'd rather not drive a truck again if I don't have to. I've spent the last few days looking into facilities positions but I lack the education necessary. My restrictions have pretty much knocked me out of any type of careers similar to mine. I'm limited to 40lbs from floor to waist and 20lbs above that. I'm in my mid forties and aside from injury or vacation, I haven't missed a day of work since I was 13yo. My education level is high school graduate with some (less than a year) college. I'd rather work alone. I'm not opposed to doing something on my own and have mulled around the idea of installing electronics and other accessories like power poles and downriggers etc. on boats. I have the boat traffic in the area but other than that, I haven't researched the market. My son is graduating with a business major in the spring and I can get him to help with the business end of things as well as teach him the mechanical electrical end. I've got a garage full of tools and I also have a family of CPA's at my disposal. Going back to school is an option but would probably be my last option. As far as starting my own hvac/r business, it's an option but I'd rather not. So, back to the original question. Any suggestions on what to do besides selling shoes? and thanks to retiredbosn for listening to me ***** the for last year. Thanks bud.

If you're going to continue fishing throughout the winter, make sure you let all the water drain from the motor. Store it trimmed down and don't forget to trim it back up before traveling. I like to bump the starter to force any additional water out of the motor. Same with the livewell. If the livewell doesn't start immediately because it's frozen, don't let it run. You don't want to burn it up. Keep the livewell door(s) open so they don't freeze as well. Change the lower unit oil. Keep up with the normal fuel additives.

I would definitely ditch the aluminum prop.

Mark, They are Sunday tournaments from 6:00 until 2:00 after Memorial Day and 6:30 until 2:30 before Memorial Day. If you qualify for the TOC it's a 2 day tourney limited to around 200 boats. Meetings are immediately before takeoff. There is a get together the day after Thanksgiving where they are going to draw launch numbers for the guys who have already prepaid. I don't know the when or where details yet. Otherwise your launch number is based on the order he receives entry fee, not drawn at the ramp like some clubs do. There is an annual membership fee and the entry fee is $150 per boat. This is a buddy tournament so you and your partner fish collectively for the best 5. They payout 1 place for every 6 boats and there are usually around 50 boats participating. A first place win with big bass could potentially payout $2k. Payouts are separated, so you and your partner will receive separate checks at weigh-in, each for 50% of the winnings. You are allowed a substitute partner one time and can fish alone one time if need be. The substitute partner must be a member of AC which just means he/she has paid the annual membership fee. Big bass is a cash pot $10 per boat with 100% payback and there are optional side pots which are also 100% payback. An $20 insurance pot which pays $250 to each boat next in line that didn't place, until the money runs out, and another pot for the "classic" which is a 2 day tourney at the end of the season. Food and beer/pop available at the weigh-in. I've been fishing the Fox Chain division. The Fox River division is new for next season, and I may fish both. Anglers Dream is a smaller club, maybe 15-20 boats. They have a Chain and a River division as well. I don't fish those but know some guys who do. Entry fees are less as are payouts and I believe they payout 1 place for every 5 boats. Ben Watts Marine has a Wednesday evening tourney that started this past season and gets about 15 boats. I haven't fished that either.

Even if you don't qualify for the Bassmaster Classic, there is decent prize money and they give away 3 Legend boats at the Tournament of Champions each year which, more often than not is held on Guntersville.
