You Had To Have It
It's not dumb if I can justify it in my head.

Jokes - Let's Have Some Fun
A beautiful woman loved growing tomatoes, but couldn't seem to get her tomatoes to turn red. One day, while taking a stroll, she came upon a gentleman neighbor. He had the most beautiful garden full of huge red tomatoes. The woman asked the gentleman, "What do you do to get your tomatoes so red?" The man responded, "Well, twice a day I stand in front of my tomato garden, naked in my trench coat and I flash them. My tomatoes turn red from blushing so much." The woman was so impressed; she decided to try doing the same thing to her tomato garden to see if it would work. So twice a day for two weeks she flashed her garden hoping for the best. One day the gentleman was passing by and asked the woman, "By the way, how did you make out? Did your tomatoes turn red? "No", she replied, "but my cucumbers are enormous!"

Hey Dwight....
I'm positive the reason there are 30-40lb trout and 8lb smallies is because of the goby and zebra mussels. I'm no scientist, but our predator fish have adapted and benefited from the evasive species and made the best of it.
-
Hey Dwight....
More goby info than you'll ever need https://www.ideals.illinois.edu/bitstream/handle/2142/10174/inhscaev01996i00010_opt.pdf?sequence=2 Pages 19-25 cover reproduction, growth, and diet.
-
Hey Dwight....
They reproduce multiple times a year. Their diet consists of fish eggs and zebra mussels. The fish eggs diet is obvious why it's bad. The zebra mussels filter micro organisms and toxins out of the water. The gobies eat the toxin filled mussels and the bass, trout, and perch eat the toxin filled gobies. What the toxin effect on the predator fish is I don't know.

What To Use
Are you looking to just fill them in? 3M 5200 should work fine. It's bright white in color if it matters.

Peta Drones Are Watching You!!!
They're watching me? I'd better zip up my pants.....
-
Hey Dwight....
Is that a jig or a swimbait? Seems it would work better as a jig since gobies are bottom dwellers.

Soft Plastic Storage
Keep them in the original packaging and store them in the gal ziplocs. Some plastics don't mix well with others. A chemical reaction occurs and everything melts together.

Racy Language In Fishing
I read the other one as well before I t was locked and I didn't really understand why it was locked, but oh well. My take, If someone buys a lure based on the name rather than the reviews, so be it. If someone DOESN'T buy a lure based on the name rather than the reviews, so be it. I belong to a local fishing forum that is more of a multi species site than anything. It has it's regulars, but it really goes thru "seasons" when everyone comes out of the woodwork. There are a couple really decent sticks who put their time on the water. Recently, the Lake Michigan shorefront went thru salmon season where the kings, cohos, and browns come in. Catching a 20lb king salmon is beyond fun and you should all take the opportunity if it presents itself. Catching "death piles" (limits) is what the decent sticks are doing. One of the decent sticks comes up with a new scheme every salmon season and gets all the gullible fishermen to bite. It provides pages and pages of entertainment on a site with little traffic. Last year it was "spoonbobbing". Don't ask. This year, it was a generic stickbait he gave a name to. Gave all the colors provocative names with a local flair. He took pictures of said bait in the salmons mouth every time he went out. Convinced all of the Chicago and SE Wisconsin shore fisherman, that his was the bait to have. Send him a PM and he will ship them out to you. He never responded to the PM's and never shipped any baits, because there weren't any. Talk of this magical lure spilled over to other local fishing forums. That thread generated 21,000 hits in a few weeks, in an otherwise painfully slow forum. My point is it's all marketing. Some of the smaller lure companies feel the need to market "racy" names to get noticed. There are only so many different colors to market, but change the name from, and I'm being clean, from shad to sexy shad, and you now have a new consumer. As fishermen, we should buy what works and not be suckered by the provocative name or color.

Good But Low Cost ($200 And Under) Fish Finder?
They're supposed to be.LOL I've never had a problem with either Lowrance or Humminbird units I've used. There are stories of Lowrance units becoming waterlogged, but I believe that is limited to the higher end units.

Best Rain Gear
Don't have the Guidewear yet. That's what I will be upgrading to.
-
Best Rain Gear
The best is relative to how much money you want to drop. Cabelas Guidewear and BPS 100mph at the high end and everything else at the low end. The Froggtoggs I had were anything but waterproof. I've got a pair of Field and Stream that are pretty decent and when I upgrade, I've decided on the Cabelas. They have nothing but positive reviews on all the forums.

"v" Shapes Moving On The Surface?
Agree. If it were fish, you'd see a higher volume of water moving than just a slight V shape

Difference Between Baitcaster And Spinning Reel???
Depends on application. If the application is bass and bass lures, you are probably correct. If you're surf fishing for stripers or fishing the shores of Lake Michigan for brown trout, you are incorrect.

Any Other Apbt Owners?
I had a male golden retriever with champion bloodlines similar in temperament. It never killed another dog but aggressively went after every dog it came in contact with. Stupid dog attacked a large buck one day we were walking in the woods. Thankfully I was able to scare the buck away.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
These are from a new Sony camera. Camera worked fine before and after she touched it. Shortly after she took the pics, she wanted to look something up on the phone and somehow messed up the ringtone. She hands the phone back and says "I think I screwed up your phone" Took me an hour to figure out how to get it working again.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Not me. I'm scared of going thru. I've had invites for years but can't drum up enough nerve. I did it once. I took an ice fishing class a long time ago put on by the DNR in Dupage County, thinking I might want to do it. Haven't been on the ice since. My son used to go on Bangs with a buddy from high school. He went thru when he was 16yo, and thank God was able to get out. He hasn't been on the ice since. There is a winter bass trail on the Des Plaines at Big Basin. First tourney is tomorrow. 8 total between tomorrow and March. There's a chance I may hit a tourney or two. We'll see how it plays out
