  1. I believe class 2 is rated to 3500lbs.
  2. State Farm for my boat truck and home.
  3. Wouldn't have happened if you had a Minn Kota
  4. For some reason she thinks I should know better. This isn't the first time this happened either. When we were in our 20's she was flattered by me defending her honor. Now in our 40's she is flattered she's getting attention from a 20 some year old punk. Go figure.
  5. just checked my policy. 100k liability 7k in contents for under $300 a year.
  6. Got 4 years out of my last set.
  7. 2 weeks is a week and a half too long.
  8. I don't spend much time in bars anymore because nothing good happens in them. So the ol' lady wants to go shoot some pool. Some punk gangbanger grabs her rearend. I exchange some words. She gets between us and ...I'm the bad guy. How the hell does that happen?
  9. Find a good mechanic and build a relationship with him. I've had the same boat mechanic(s) for 12 years or so. If I need something done now, they take care of it. If I need something done yesterday, they take care of it. I don't whine about the bill or make things difficult on them, and they don't make things difficult on me.
  10. I have never heard anything bad about them and they have a nice line up a little less expensive than the big names.
  11. Thanks. I posted on a few different forums and 4+ is about what everyone said.
  12. I got caught out on Lake Michigan once. Scariest thing I have ever experienced. Was in my dad's Pro Line 24' walkaround salmon fishing off Gills Rock in Door County with my son who was maybe 6 or 7 at the time. Glass calm in the morning. Heard the warnings on the radio and saw the sky changing and started to head in. Sky turned black and I got caught up in it about 2 miles from the marina. If I had to guess, I'd say 6-8 footers. Fortunately, I lived to tell about it. Makes you respect nature in a whole new way.
  13. That may be part of the reason they moved the classic to the early spring. If it's at the end of the season, probably less viewers. This time of year 1/2 the country is still under ice and people are itching to get out.
  14. State Farm insures my boat, car, home. Boat, motor, and trailer are insured for what I paid for it, so on a total loss, I get what I paid for it. I think I have $5000 on contents. Not sure what the liability $ amount is. Knock on wood, never had a claim on the boat, car or home so who knows if it's any good.
  15. The only solution I can think of on the v2 is to attach the cable to the locking collar that you adjust the shaft length, with a wire tie and leave some slack in it. Won't be clean but it will work.
  16. Ish is going to beat him up outside at the monkeybars
  17. Is there a general rule to calculate MPG on a motor or a place I can go to get the info? Reason I'm asking is I will be headed to Guntersville to fish a tourney. I have a 17ft tin deep v with a 90hp carburated 2 stroke, with a 19 gallon fuel tank. Top speed under ideal conditions with 2 guys all our gear, full tank and livewell is around 40mph. Gas guage works at will. Want to know how far I can run. Thanks
  18. So, first flight guys have to be at the ramp at 3:00. Weighin started at 5:00. Are the boats sitting in the water for thise 2 hours keeping fresh water in the livewell? If not, how do they keep the fish alive for the 2 hours without replanishing the oxygen? Are they in tubs and put them back in the boat at weighin time?
  19. May I suggest a boat you can spend time with your boys in, when you get back. Just a thought.
  20. Pretty suprised about the low weights. Good luck to the local boy.
  21. If it's a boy, the name KVD has a certain ring to it. Congrats and hope momma has a healthy pregnancy.

If this is the case, some type of fisheries or biology degree would be in order. There's more to raising fish than putting them in water and feeding them.
  23. Alot of this has to do with the breakdown of the 2 parent household, and the fact that for many couples to raise a family nowadays, they need 2 incomes. The guilt a single mother or working mother feels for not spending time with her children is made up in gifts, and overprotectiveness(if that's a word). Also, when you have strangers, TV, and video games raising your kids at an early age when their minds are like sponges and absorb everything they see, nothing good can come of that. Growing up I had both white collar and blue collar influences in my life. At least I had someone influencing me to do something, than allowing me to sit around and do nothing.
  24. My father just uses the minnow bucket. Think it adds a little zest to the bait.
