If you don't cinch down the albright knot tight enough it will come undone, which is what was mentioned in the video. I believe that has to do with the "lack"of memory that flouro has. As far as the braid cutting thru the flouro, It's never happened to me. Bassn Blvd, A leader is used in certain situations where you don't want the line visibility to be a factor in not catching fish. I pretty much use it only on a senko/fluke presentation or a jig presentation in gin clear water. The reason the leader is long is it gives you opportunity to re-tie. If you only had a foot long leader you'd have to re-tie the leader each time you switched baits.

I prefer my catfish deep fried.

Looks like a standard Albright Knot to me. The finger saver is a nice addition to cinch the knot. I use this knot all the time. I like a dab of Krazy glue on top of it. If my line breaks it's either the palomar at the hook or because of an abrasion in the flouro leader.

Shelbyville. I don't have any lipped cranks, and only 2 lipless - a tiny rapala bluegill that I'm guessing is 1/4 oz, and a 3/8 oz shad Rat-L-Trap. I don't crank much because I suck with them. I've caught several bass on jigs, but never on my lipless cranks. I would have switched to my rat-l-trap that day, but I had always thought that the backseater should fish a different style of bait than the front seat. In my mind, if he was cranking, then I should be using a jig, shakey head or t-rigged plastic. That way he can fish a fast bait, and I can fish slower and pick up any fish that didn't feel like chasing a fast shad crank that day. I guess it's time to stock up on cranks. The fish will tell you what they want. We all get caught up with "What worked yesterday" or "This is what the guys on BR said to use ;D" You have to learn when to say times up and change your plan. I don't know your situation but have a few rods at your feet with different presentations ready to go.

Haven't been there this year yet but I normaly get up there 2 or 3 times a year. My folks have a house up there. Suspending rattling cranks in a golden shiner pattern work well in the summer. Carolina rigged tubes/goby immitators. Wacky jig senkos. White on white spinnerbaits are also a good option. Bigger fish will be suspending off reefs in 20-30fow or more, but you should be able to pick up plenty of 2-3 pounders fishing shallower. If you've never fished Door County before BE CAREFUL. You need some good maps. There are plenty of reefs and underwater islands that can wreak havoc on you. Also the weather can turn on an instant. My dad called me today and said they lost a 19ft Lund this week. The boat was trolling for salmon in 3-4 footers. Downrigger got caught on the bottom, and pulled the boat under. They were rescued by another fishing boat. Early spring and late fall is trophy hunting season. Good luck.

What can I use to remove dry wax from the black plastic door handles and mud flaps on my truck? The kid at Autozone had a deer in the headlights look on his face when I asked him. He then showed me some headlight lens restorer and said maybe this will work. I thought about ArmorAll or some type of silicone spray but wasn't sure if that would remove the wax and probably would leave a greasy film on the handles. Any thoughts? Thanks

harpoon, I hope you only epoxied the plastic board to the transom. That transducer should have a hinge mount which should cause it to pop up when beached. Then you can manually snap it into place. Like I said earlier the bottom of the transducer should hang 3/4-1" below the hull. ...And make sure it's parallell to the water, not the bottom of the boat.

Just slightly. It needs to flip up freely if you beach or bump something shallow.

To confuse you even more in many cases when the shoreline is recently flooded there are new opportunities for food. The baitfish may move up to the shoreline to feed on insects and worms. The larger fish should be right behind them. If there is heavy current with the flooded water fish should be TIGHT to structure. Fish the new structure.

We all have a successful game plan before we go out. Have a rod tied up for each of your presentations. Senko, spinnerbait, jig, crank, etc. Then change colors, sizes as needed. I think frustration is EXTREMELY detrimental to fishing. A bad mindset changes the way you cast, the way you retrieve, and makes a not so good day on the water much worse.
