  1. Well, I saw bluegills sitting on beds as well, only a few yards from where bass where sitting on beds, and bowfins as well. Was really strange.
  2. Here, perhaps this map can help you http://marinecruiser.com/
  3. Agreed. I'll use em when nothing else seems to be working.
  4. What part are ya fishing?
  5. Was fishing today and saw a lot of beds from 3ft-6inches of water. not a lot of bass sitting on them though. Only about a 1/3 of them had a bass sitting in it. the others had some bluegill swimming around in it and some actually had some bowfin sitting on them! Never seen one before. Thought they were snakeheads haha. Anyways, none of those bass or bowfin hit. Creature, turtle, craw, worm, fluke, nothing (thats about all I was throwing due to the heavy dense weeds in the area). The string of beds were along the shore for about 35-40yds. Every so often i could see what i thought were bass chasing bluegills around(could see the wake). I didn't think that multiple species of fish spawn in that tight of an area together. But it wouldn't be the first time a fish did something that surprised me. So could tell me what I was seeing here? Water temp was probably around the low 60s.
  6. Take an arky jig, trim the front part of the skirt, and add a trailer that is pretty flat along the bottom. Like a paca craw. Got pretty good using that with a baitcaster. If you want to try using a baitcaster make sure the tension knob and brake settings are turned down real low. You got to get REALLY good with thumbing the spool. And be ready for a monster backlashes.
  7. Had a good day today in SE Michigan. About 10 boated and 2 had gotten off. Biggest one was probably around 3lbs. All the bass I caught were shallow in and around lily pads. Or where there were a decent amount of weeds but not too clogged. All on a weightless fluke simply swam across the surface. No action or anything. Just reeled in. And I had another 2 hit on a snagg proof frog with a buzzbait blade on it. But I suck at setting the hook on frogs.
  8. 3 is an average number. But now that I live closer to my fishing spots, that will increase hopefully. That is if my new job doesn't get in the way.
  9. Sometimes I get so angry I black out and wake up with nothing but a pair of ripped shorts. Usually there are a bunch of snapped trees and flipped cars around.
  10. First day of bass fishing since the season started, did better than the guys on boats haha. Just a rage tail craw in bama craw and a keel waited hook......(Thanks BIG-O!).
  11. Traveler, you hit the nail on the head. Everything was done great. It was my first and had a blast. The "Soreh/sorerear/sorererererrerer", the BBQ, the raffle, meeting Chris Lane, and Alpsters jambalaya and gumbo (AMAZING JOB RONNIE!) were all great. As some of you may know, I am BassResource taught. I went out with my grandparents a few times to catch bluegills but that was the extent of my fishing experience. Other than that, I had nobody to teach me bass fishing. The majority of everything I know comes from this site. And coming to this roadtrip and getting to meeting Glenn, Keri, and the rest of you fishing fools that, have pretty much been my teachers in my passion for fishing, was awesome. This was the most fun I have had in a long time, and I plan on making next year's roadtrip to where ever it is, and every single one after it.
  12. Hey Jeff how's grandpa doin? He make it back alright?
  13. Final report for the day... Me and traveler boated 5 fish off of some ledges. 4 were about 2lbs or a lil more. The other one could have used as a trailer on my spinnerbait haha.
  14. Me and Traveler hooked got on a school of white bass smacking the shad, Had about 30 between the two of us. They got a lot of fight! The one other guy fishing in the area got on his cell phone and pretty soon there were about 10 boats in the one area haha. No largemouth though. Really hope tomorrow I hook into some. Where can I find them?
  15. I have two, one in 6'6MH spinning and one in a 7'MH casting. love em. Being a shore angler they get put through a lot of abuse, sticking them into branches and into the dirt a lot. Guides dont't get bent or broken and no rod snapping. I also have closed the guides in the door near the front of the door, where plastic comes together and the plastic actually has a dent in it from the guides. Guides were fine. =)
  16. I hope the fishing get's better. I caught my first spotted bass today which was pretty cool but, I need to catch a lot of good ones!
  17. Great job RW!
  18. My apologies tom. Ya did a great job of keeping us out of that wind and where the fish were. Thanks for my first bass boat ride!
  19. 4.1 caught today on a wacky senko. Top that!
  20. Alrigh, just woke up, leaving to meet up with scrutch as soon as I get some food in my belly.
  21. You're not allowed to fish for bass anymore?
  22. real quick, can I just buy a fishing license for alabama down there, will I need to bring any special ID besides my license?
  23. I like my women like I like my cheese smelly and full of holes? Nvm....
