jiggingitis is usually a good one, just tell them it's really catchy.

We used to call it Delacroix Influenza. Lots of sick notes signed by Dr. Bullred.

No excuses needed. Hopefully, your family and job is more important. I have missed many good days of hunting and fishing due to work, but I realize that my job and my family are far more important than my need to hunt/fish.

Take a "mental health" day.

I know how it feels, been working 70 hours a week for five weeks now, without a break , nor is one in sight. The times I have been able to fish have sucked, and every one else I know has been crushing them. I am sick of it. Sick of fishing in general. I feel a sell off of the stuff coming up soon, and I'll go back to my old hobby, where being at the right place/right time is not critical to success, and where every one involved has real jobs, don't pump you for all your best ways to catch fish, and then rub your face in it on a regular basis.

Get canned and collect unemployment for 99 weeks. You should be able to develop a pattern by then.

hahaha

Tell your boss that your little kid has a real bad cold and you have to stay home in case he has to go to the hospital or something.

No kids here, they might not believe me if I tried to use that one.

I just the my boss that "My hurts, I can't see coming in today."

Or you could tell them you have the Micropterus Salmoides flu! :respect-059:

Anal Glaucoma......you cant see your ass coming in today LOL

Right now i got a serious case of Bass Thumb. Sometimes it seems like there teeth get down to the bone. I think maybe you could get a note and some pain killers for that from you doctor :)

Tell them you have rectal bleeding. They won't ask questions.

lol at the excuses. just put in for a couple vacation days and use them to fish...

I know how you feel, I haven't had a real day off for over two months now and I still need to get my shoulder worked on, it's planned this next weekend, but the bass are barely moving up and gearing for spawn around here. I might try to get in one more trip before I get cut all up :)

Tell them you have anal glaucoma...and you can't see your **** going to work!!

Tell him/her you are not coming in today. You do not need an excuse. It is a hipa violation for them to ask about your health. Or you can just tell them you are going fishing. That is what I do, no need to lie about it.

My fishing buddy I.M. Haungup is in the military, and does National Guard the first weekend every month; can't interfere with that. Otherwise his problem is his girlfriend, her family, and occasionally his family. Between antiquing, entertaining relatives, etc. he can't seem to get out much.

I advised him to tell 'em (1) He had to participate in a bombing raid on Canada because they are a buncha dweebs anyway; or, (2) Just pretend he has the flu then once the GF pulls out to go antiquing he can break and run for it. Coming back, he had a high fever and hadda go to the ER.

You REALLY need to learn to lie creatively, bud!

Here is a pearl of wisdom from me to you: An hour spent bank fishing before and after work is better than no fishing at all.

I just tell my boss i want to go fishing lol for real though . I can only do it a couple days unpaid a year.
