  1. Someone had to say it..... Spinnerbaits. I don't do well with them other than at night. I'm sure It's a mental thing during the day but If you see me fishing a spinnerbait during the day It means I'm either giving It another try or I'm practicing my casting. lol
  2. Cheers AJ!
  3. Welcome!
  4. Slone, Congrats. to both you and your daughter! As for some of the comments, Ignore them. It seems some of the new(ish) posters have little respect for a man's family. I have experienced It myself lately on these forums.
  5. Simply buy...... I would suspect the majority of the folks on here have more than they need. It's all part of this passion we call fishing.
  6. There are more than a few but I would have to say the day my wife, on our honeymoon, broke her personal best three times.

  8. Plastic worm. Zoom
  9. Zoom plastics......In particular the magnum finesse worm. I'm also a fan of Norman crankbaits. The deep baby N has been very good to me.
  10. AJ and 00mod, I can only Imagine the thrill of a trip like that. Well done gentleman!
  11. Roostertail, Sam and myself are going to start a thread some time In January and try to get a good list of BR folks that are going. We don't know exactly what folks want to do, as far as a BR meet-up, but as we get more details hopefully we can get a good group there!

  14. The above is solid advice, especially the part about NOT getting discouraged. When I first started fishing plastics in a serious way in the late 70's It took what seemed like forever to finally figure out what I was doing. It was and at times can be quite difficult to distinguish a bite but nothing solved that problem more than being on the water and getting a feel for not only structure vs. a bite but for you equipment. As Mike alluded to above, hook sets are free and when In doubt set the hook. I promise you the more you work at this the better you will become and at a certain point all the thinking you will be doing about steps, hook sets, placement, etc., will become second nature. Again, don't get discouraged!
  15. Sweet looking bait CN!
  16. I have one local place I get the majority of my plastics, a few crankbaits, terminal tackle, and rods and reels. When I go there, which is often, I almost always buy something and the time we spend shooting the bull Is always great. If they don't have an Item they will order It for you. That being said I buy all my jigs from Mike at Siebert Outdoors, a few custom made crankbaits, a selecet few Items from TW, JJ'S magic from their website, and If the bargin bin at Walmart has some of the old wee r's and deep wee r's(They don't make them anymore) I will buy those for $1.50 a piece. It's rare that I go to DSG or BPS. If I do buy anything from either one It's usually because I have a gift card. On the rare occasion I'm in Charlotte I will go to BPS to browse. I might buy something I might not.
