  1. i catchem up to 25 or so inches in the st. johns when they run up river to spawn, they might be one of the only fish inch for inchwho can fight with a red, a big croker is a great fight.
  2. i use a leaning seat when im on the trolling motor, when im in the back i sit when troughing slow baits and stand when cranking, top water, and other faster baits.
  3. yeah, down here we get them huge, 10-15 pounds, DONT lip them they have big nasty teeth and i have seen them bite someone clean to the bone, it looks like a small shark bite.
  4. you could always start a team at what ever school you choose, or you could come down to sw florida and fish on my team.
  5. first off, harris is tough people who have fish there many thimes will zero from time to time. on monroe, it has soem water flow so fish the pads early with frogs, then move tothe edges or grass lines with trick worms, sencos, and texas rigged curly tails.
  6. I really dont think the pros on either side are better or worse. there are a lot of pros in flw that I think could very successful in Bass, and have there are just differences and some anglers like one more than the other.
  7. What did you do change schools?
  8. yes, they are fantastic. you can get a holster. but it is kinda bulky. but you could were it.

if u made a couple more I would love to try one I think they would catchem down here.
  10. I checked The FWC handbook it says that you can catch and transport fish to aquariums and private lakes, so I never says any where you cant take them. the only non private lakes are natural ones.
  11. in florida I believe you can transport fish as long as you are not over your bag limits.
  12. in florida, the pleco can live, the water stays warm enough. in the St. Johns and Rodman res. we have counted up to 400in one day.
  13. that is a pleco, it is an "algae eater "for fish tanks. but they will scavange any thing including fish eggs and they like dark spaces.
  14. Well they are on a role, 3rd place at 1000 islands in NY. in the FLW college event
  15. Snook dont go north of daytona commonly, they are very rare here in j-ville, so I would think they dont go to tally, and it is an hour from tally to the gulf so maybe he has not taken the time to get a red, even though the redfish fishing is very good there. :-/
  16. guys, there are a lot of college and anglers in general. but I am having the same problems raising money so best of luck to yall.
  17. I have this same rod, I have use it for that, frogs, top water, sencos. any number for things.... plenty of back bone.
  18. from what i have seen, th largemouth in south florida eat mainly craw, bluegill and some shad. peacocks eat mostly cichlids and shad.... so no. I have also caugh some Huge bass in ponds with big peacocks.
  19. Peacocks are Cichlids. True but the small mayans are good bait for them, but largemouth dont seem to hit them.
  20. As for as practicing, I have messed up in both college tounrys I fished this year by hooking too many fish in practice. we got there and we already caught all the good fish so it can be bad.... and some times a clipped hook wont help if they swallow it. congrats on the good finish.
  21. Fatmanslim hit the nail on the head, even the pros zero. at Sante, 12 pros zeroed. Can I ask a moderator to please close this post, its not going any where the point has been made and people are getting mad.
  22. I wish they would allow you to fish that series so you could be humbled. That is basically what im saying, i fish 20+ tournys a year and I consider my self a good, not great fisherman. you are greatly humbled the first time you go out and it is much harder than most people think esp. when the water is pounded for 5 days by the pros.
  23. its the GATORS, no one else, the only test before the championship. LSU in Baton Rouge.... tough but the week before FLA bye, LSU VS. UGA..... again sec champ. and 3 rings and 2 heismans for tebow
  24. u have to remeber 2 thinks with that and I agree u should be able to but it does not always happen. that water has been pounded for days by the pros, and you are not suposed to fish near the pros, so if you pull up and apro is there u have to leave.
