  1. Man, i hate that; i had the same thing happen to me....hit and run in a parking lot. But, dude, that's $2400 damage??? What kind of vehicle is it??
  2. Dock, if your eye doctor isn't/cant help you; go to a different eye doctor. ESPECIALLY if you are using contacts!!

  4. Bass Pro Shops sells a replacement frame for the 2-man boats they sell....
  5. Niether...Nissan, if i were buying new. I've owned three Dodge trucks and one of the three would have been a keeper, (two '99 and one '00...the later being the keeper). Even though one was a home-run, i'm done with Dodge. Chevy left the ball-park years ago.......although my wife reeeeaallly likes those dang HHR's or whatever the heck those PT Cruiser clones are.....
  6. I guess i fall into the "recovering" tackle-junkie catagory; don't know the cure......oh, yeah, it might be the wife, house, grandbaby, vehicles, etc, etc, etc, etc. I have to admit, though , i do BINGE on occasion. To me, tackle is sort of like tools, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TO MUCH!!
  7. As past owner of a 1968,1969,1976 and a 1999 Camaro, as well as a current owner of a '67, i would have to say this one just ain't doin' it for me........... Nice try, though, but it seems like a little too little, maybe a little too late? However, that being said, if GM survives the next year or so and don't kill it off (again), there may be some potential. just my O'pinion..............
  8. Supercharged, or turbo-charged? Replacements can be costly. I, personally, prefer cubic inches for power; not that i'm a bit "partial" to my leetle Dodge Dakota with a 360 in it.... 8-)
  9. I can't really speak as someone who know's what he's talking about, but here in the south we have a sort of similar problem at Calling Panther Lake. It's about 500 acres and you either catch a monster (current lake record is over 12#) or a "stump-nocker", and LOTS of them. It such an issue that the daily creel limit has been 'upped' to 30 bass per day and are STRONGLY encouraged to KEEP ALL small bass caught out of the slot. I, myself, ALWAYS, practice catch-and-release, EXCEPT here. It seems a prime example of "OUT-OF-BALANCE", mostly due to people NOT keeping any bass.... just my 2 cents..
  10. use it, ABUSE it, and check back in 2 years....
  11. Boy, this seems to be a good thread, so i'll jump on..... Here in my neck-o-the-woods, we have a nice little river that has some good 4-6-8-hour floats on it, be it by boat, canoe, or tube. The fishing is usually pretty good to, bass and bream, if one chooses to do so. 'Problem is, a lot of adults AND a lot of "KIDS", that would be, say, "under-age", have tarnished this said little river to the point that the local officials have BANNED alcohol on said PORTIONS of this river, due to abuse, neglect of laws, litter, drunks, the list goes on.... There is nothing wrong with a "responsible" adult enjoying a few "adult" beverages on a "water-outing", but around here it seems there are not as many "resposible adults" as there are "adult beverages"....... lust had to throw in my 6-cents worth...
  12. Small ponds in south ms rule!! I have two bass on my wall, both 7-lb'ers (one black, one spotted) and both came from ponds less than 7- acres. I have seen countless numbers of double-digits come from 10-acre or less farm ponds. I dunno, maybe it's the cow-dung or chicken-dung....... ;D
  13. Instead of a case of beer , how about splurging a little for that almighty pass-that-no-one-else-you-know-can-get pass and offer up a $20-or-so fruit basket as a offer of good-intention? It's worked for me as i have several "exclusive" honey-holes that no-one i know can fish......just a thought
  14. I remember back in 1989, we were opening a new store, so we had a lot of stuff coming from different freight companies (18-wheelers). I was unloading a couple pallets and saw these 55-gallon blue plastic drums with DANGER/FLASHPOINT (don't remember 'temp) decals on the outside and asked the driver what the stuff was. His reply: FOOD FILLER...going to one of those fast food joints; they get them all the time. My thoughts are STILL: what the heck's in there that has a FLASHPOINT...!!..???

'gator, thanks for the info. I've been to the 'Larew site hundreds of times and since i idid not see the skirted versions listed, i just thought they were no longer made. Seems like they could move more inventory if it stated somewhere besides the checkout line that these are available. But then again that's just my own opinion. I want to thank everybody that responded; this bait has landed many, many bass for me in the past and i expect to be hookin' some hogs again soon with these, thanks to you all!!

Recently, i had a memory 'spike' (as i call it) and remember years ago using a lure called Gene Larew Skirted Salt Craws. As my memory spike recalls, these were deadly on bass. Problem in today's memory world, they seem to be non-exsistent. Anybody else remember these or know of a company that makes something like this?
  18. I've used Cayenne Pepper.......it worked.
  19. As someone who works in retail that "previously" was a agent for Western Union, everyone should beware of those as well, particularly the elderly. This includes relatives and/or neighbors. Some of the scammers that use WU are really good. I can think of three instances real quick where we had to get the local police involved to help prevent some elderly customers from wiring thousands of dollars to these scammers. It's a shame, but it happens every day.
  20. Thanks to all, i appreciate it.
  21. Today i lost a dear friend too soon; Joe Rushing. Joe died today from a long battle with cancer; over 25 years this man has beat it, but this time, it won. I say too soon as it's only been less than 9 years since i met the man. Joe was one of those rare persons that we meet in life that one can learn something from, everytime you spent the time to listen. The man could build anything, fix anything, or figure out a way for anything to work, and i mean anything. As a fisherman, Joe seemed to always go for catfish; if you ask anybody about the local river, Joe's the man. d**n, i'm gonna miss him. Time is such a precious thing that i take for granted..............
  22. Mississippi...... ....Margaritaville..... ;D
  23. What about rubber vacuum line that is used on autos? Just make a slit down one side with a razor blade and glue it on. 8 ft should not cost $5-$10 and any auto parts stores have it in spools.
  24. BPS listed a couple of carts just for this, don't know if they still have them. The are set up for something like, maybe, surf fishing, with rod holders and carrying an ice chest, big rear tires, swivel casters in front, etc., hauling fishing stuff from point A to point F.
  25. I don't know if this will help, but i bought a 1987 Tracker Tournament TX-17 in 1994 and still have it today. Sure, i've replaced carpets, switches, plugs, etc., but it still has the 60hp Mariner that came on it. Just a thought; ask the seller if you can use it for a day and take it and use it; run the crap out of it and see how it performs. Still not convinced, spend a few dollars on a investment and take it to a boat shop IN A DIFFERENT CITY and see what they think about it. Small price for a 'should-be' long-term relationship. Check MOTOR,MOTOR,MOTOR.......,but that's just me...
