  1. I have the same colors....think I'm gonna get 2 other colors as well, plus some more RT craws..and..anocondas..lol
  2. I think if I caught what I would believe to be a WR bass, I'd still do a CPR, and screw the world record stuff. I'd go to my grave knowing that a 21+ lb bass is still swiming around in some lake, and happy to be alive...........
  3. I bought the BBZ slowsink in the dirty shad about 2 months ago. I also fished it from shore, at local Shallow ponds. What I do is cast out, count to 4 and Slowly reel, then stop, give a Small twitch, and start over again..I found out that if you keep your rod tip way down, the BBZ will run a tad deeper at a slower pace, which let it swim that much better. The ponds I fish are 3-5' deep, and loaded with weeds, and snotgrass, so I try to keep mine about 2' below the surface. Use a heaver line, i.e. I'm using 10lb yozuri hybrid ultrasoft on my baitcaster. I tried it with my spinnig rig, 8 lb yozuri, and it tends to run a bit higher in the water, not much though. Still waiting for a bass to Explode on mine.. ;D
  4. They found her floating...
  5. Ahh shoot, I thought we were talkin Pro's here...lol
  6. Ahh, but there's a fix for this..I'm in the same boat..read this. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1242190824
  7. I can fish plastic's and jigs all day..that's one area where I have plenty of patience..what I truely suck at is...finding good size fish and catching them, i.e. PB is 5.4..so not all of us so. cali guys get the big un's.. :-[ Also I suck at flippin my baitcaster, I know pratice, practice ect.. Just got a sonar, am tryin to learn to use it proplerly to find structure.
  8. I have been fishing city park ponds the last 2 months, and haven't got anything on topwater..jerks, frogs, nada..of course these ponds are very High pressure, and fish are TOUGH to catch, ahhh, the challenge..Gawd I miss bing on a real lake..
  9. And practice, pratice, and practice...your thumb is key. I set my bc pretty loose, meaning it could backlash dang easy, but I get longer cast's fishin from shore. Good Luck, and have fun.
  10. Check ebay for the Curado...about 150.00 shipped
  11. I couldn't believe the things he does...He's 1 Special Man.
  12. I think it helps to know where you are too, i.e. state country ect. I have no idea what Qc is...
  13. Also in addition, have a look at the Shimano Shara reel, and the Shimano Clarus rods..
  14. I prefer the ultrasoft. And even though RW recomends using KVD line conditioner, I never have..the ultrasoft works great w/o it imho. Also, if your fishing stained water or anything other than ginclear, try the green mist yozuri, seems to work better than the clear for visabilty. That's another thing RW talked me into..LOL
  15. I tried them, never caught a fish..so now I use the 7 and 10" ragetails instead, much better action too.. Sorry, didn't mean to rain on your parade.
  16. Don't really have a fave, I like all the pro's, nor do I really dislike any of them. I do get a kick out of listening to Shaw everytime he catches a fish...lol dude cracks me up..
  17. I heart spinning gear...and yup, I'm old too.. ;D
  18. Easily over 95% of my fishing is done with worms..one way that I usualy get fish is by splitshoting, sorta like a carolina rig but w/o out the sliding weight, oddly enough sometimes I use lighter line, no heavier than 8 lb, and a #5 splitshot about 12-16" above the worm depending on bottom conditions. Also t rig, c rig, dropshot and freeline (t rig no weight)
  19. If you have a spinning reel, size 2500 or smaller, you can't use 10 or 12 lb line, what you can do is use a better line, i.e. yozuri hybrid ultrasoft which more abbrasion resistant, and won't break as easy. If you have a size 4000 then you could go to 10 lb..but as Raul said...make sure your knots are secure, which is why I like the palomar knot, and do check your line often for nicks ect.. JFYI, I've landed 8 lb rainbow trout on 3 lb mono..it's albout the drag, when to ally pressure, and when to let the fish take some line. Most times, poeple try to horse a fish in, before it's tired, better to play it a bit, and tire it out. just my 3 peso's
  20. Same here, on sunny days, I cast into the shade if possible, unless I'm fishing deeper water, i.e. 10' or more. I try to keep my back to sun, but not always possible.
  21. Me too...most ponds (city parks) are only 3-5' deep, so the worms are #1...usuaully a 4" roboworm.
  22. If your wanting a rod in a lower price range, I could recomend the Shimano Clarus..med or mh power and fast action. I also would agree that yozuri ultrasoft in 6 or 8 lb would be good.
  23. Wasn't there a thread about this just last month..? ;D
  24. X 3 on the Yozuri hybrid ultra soft...great line.
