  1. My frog set up has a Fuego on it..Great reel, and the price is good too.
  2. I should have IF, they are there fishing every day, or even 3 or 4 times a week. Also, depends on the size of the pond.
  3. True. But taking a 100 fish per day out of a pond could deplete that pond fairly quick. OTH, common sense goes a long way.
  4. These go on all my baitcasting reels..
  5. This may seem trivial, but my guess is sooner or later, and I bet sooner, those people will get tired of eating bass, and find something else to do. At a few ponds I fish, I saw this happen, but in the big numbers as you mentioned, a couple of guys would show up with buckets for a few days, then disappear. Hopefully this is the case. In the long term, what you did was the right thing to do.
  6. Congratz..
  7. 100 to 200. This would depend on conditions also, so 1 day I may use mostly a 200 size, could change the next day though. I kinda like a larger reel, a few years ago I had a Shimano Curado 301 E that I used A Lot..
  8. Blue lives Matter..Good on ya Blue.. I hope this isn't to political..
  9. I use mostly the 3/4 oz, and Yes they do catch fish. Congratz on your PB..
  10. After 47 it's never gets old..Happy Dad's day everyone..
  11. I have the 100,150, and the 200..All very nice reels. I'm sure you will be happy with yours.
  12. Never used a trailer on either bait, never used a trailer hook. Yes I've had short strikes, but I've also caught a ton f fish without them.
  13. Not only is it Fathers Day, but it's also our 52 year Anniversary today. As we get older the time just seems to fly by very fast. Happy Fathers Day to all ya's..
  14. Fishing from the shore, it's very rare that a bass will race toward you, they usually head for deeper water. No need for high speed reels in this case.
  15. Yup, I like fishing a white spinnerbait with large willow leaf blades about 6" to a foot below the surface, it gets bit.
  16. Long time ago, I use to be one of those, always try to match the hatch guys. Then I figured out that matching the hatch doesn't garontee you'll catch fish. IMHO there's more important things to consider. I use to fish a public park lake, was pretty good sized, in fact there were 3 lakes in the park which was huge. Anyway, one day in a part of the lake that not only had tons of pressure, it had real muddy water to boot. On a whim, I picked up my swimbait rig, and began tossing a 8 Hudd trout pattern..This lake had No trout, and was never stocked. After about 15 cast's no bites or followers, I then switched to a 6" Hudd in trout. Made a nice long cast, and about 30 feet from me I saw a nice 5-6 lb bass following it, stopped reeling and gave it a twitch..The fish turned and swam off..Next cast, after about 8 turns of the reel, Wham..a nice 5 1/2 lb bass. Caught 3 more, all over 4 lbs, biggest was a tad over 6 lbs. And that pretty much shot down the match the hatch thingy for me. Find the fish, offer the right presentation at the depth where they are to me is much more important.
  17. Any bass that puts a smile on your mug, is a Good bass..
  18. Use Octopus or circle hooks, as said above. Use a sweeping hook set, don't try and jack the fish.
  19. You can fish the Fat Ika either way, tentacals up or down..Caught fish both ways.
  20. I have a 2018 Citica 201. I tried fishing straight out of the box with 12 lb mono, it felt like I had spooled up 50 lb mono on it. Casting was Short, and not very smooth at all. So, I pulled the side plate off, and added a drop of oil on the spool shaft bearings. Wiped all the grease off the level wind, and put a couple of drops of oil on it. Worked the oil in by just cranking it about 20 times, then put it free spool and spun the spool by hand, what a difference, the spool will spin for days now, it feels really buttery and cast's like a dream, in fact reminds me of my old Curado E7, which was made in Japan. Overall, I now like this reel, I thought about selling it, not anymore. I would just say, give it a good clean, and oil, for good performance. On Edit: Didn't notice you asked about the HG..mine is Not the HG...sorry.
  21. 9^ Not sure if I posted this before. Best heard with headphones Turned Up!
  22. I use circle hooks when drop shoting IF I'm nose hooking a worm. Never had a fish get gut hooked, and never had a fish get off either.
  23. I can relate. Both parents, and my younger brother all died alcoholics..None of them reached the age of 60. We've had good friends die from being hit by drunk drivers. I was never a heavy drinker, and when I got married at 21, pretty much gave it up. Seen to many lives ruined by alcohol. I could go on, and on, but I'm sure you guys get the point. Please..don't drink and drive.
  24. Very sorry to hear this, was hoping your Mom would pull through..Prayers sent for you and your family.
