  1. Thanks, I really apperciate that! Ym, Also, if you wade the river, be careful! That place does not have the typical contour river bed. I was told it is like a bunch of VW bugs parked next to each other. I would suggest sandals with the heel strap, tighten them up and slide your foot across the bottom of the river (where you cant see the bottom) till you find a safe place to place your foot. Also, for the river, if it's slimy, it's slick! Try 4" weightless junebug senoks around the rocks.
  2. yes, you got Innsbrook, the James river. Check out texas beach and Hollywood cemetry when the river gets warm enough. Also, you can head out to the western part of the Powahatan for the twin lakes out there. As for NN res. I used to live down there, that place is currently over run with hydrilla now, CRAZY thick. But, Mariners Meseum, Lake Maury is a great place to fish! Check them out on the web and learn what you need to do to fish there. PS, I just moved from Richmond to Alexandria, LA. Thats why I dont have Richmond as my residence on here. Good luck and welcome to Richmond!!!
  3. Welcome to the forums! Glad you joined! I have always wondered what it would be like to be an angler in NYC. Let me know how that goes. Good luck up there and welcome aboard!!!
  4. It's almost like stealing them! Great job and catches!!!
  5. Hey, i know some board members here that will probably be fishing it. I imagine Joe will tell you the samething I will. Also, I noticed you are in Newport News. I use to live there and fish Lee Hall Res. EXTINSVELY. If you need a point in the right direction shoot me a PM. Good luck!
  6. Thanks, I like the lures a lot, just never caught anything on them so, I wasnt too sure.
  7. Hey everyone, I'm checking to see who uses these plastics, and how productive they are for you? I like the Rattlesnake a lot, only had one bite on it. Checking to see what you guys/gals think of it. Thanks in Advance, Wdy

  11. Wookie, welcome to the forums! I will be moving to Central Louisiana here in the next week.
  12. Since you mentioned you dont have a 7-to-1 gear ratio reel I would go with that one. I found myself using my 200E7 more then any other reel specifically for the increased speed. It's a lurxury to have a reel with that speed "sitting around," to use. But, it really comes down to personal preference, what techniques do you think you will be using, would you want the higher speed? Take inventory of how you're thinking about fishing and you'll make the best selection. Good luck!!!
  13. Welcome to the forums Jonathan!!
  14. Welcome to the forums Jacob!!!
  15. I like the Pacas a lot! I take an EZ tube weight (3/160z.) slide it into the body as far as it will go, then a 4/0 EWG hook is long enough to not get in the way of the tube weight and you have a real killer there. I have tried the 1/4oz Ez weights and they are too long for the baby Pacas. But, I have caught the below fish on a Rage Craw so..........
  16. I've tried them. I have caught some fish on the light yellow craw with the wafer bill. Please excuse the description. But their sexy shad medium diver has not produced for me. I like the lure a ton, casts great, just haven't caught anything on them. PS Welcome to the forums tbirds
  17. Just an FYI fellows, I got the latest Gander Mountain flyer today in the paper. They are running some deals on crankbaits from some of the manufacutures mentioned in this thread. Letting you guys know, Wdy
  18. Welcome to the start of being broke! All the advice given seems pretty good to me, get out catch some fish and lets see some pictures!
  19. Yeah, I have this reel and it is a bit "touchy," at times. But, once you get it dialed in say, with a 1/2oz. for some top water action, it is the farthest reaching reel I own. Swap out to heavier line start at 12#, like what ^ said. You have to be a litte bit more aware of keeping your thumb on the spool with this reel.
  20. Welcome to the forums Steel!!
  21. Best piece of advice: Join a bass club Worst piece of advice: from myself, The Flying Lure looks like it will work.
  22. I dont think you can go wrong with either Lew's or Shimano. It will come down to personal preference.
  23. I guess cows can swim. Great bass!!!
