  1. HAhahah!! Thanks Lund, I exxagerated for the sake of a joke, but I was yelling and screaming. I sent a couple of pictures off to the game department here in VA. Thanks everyone for the congrats! Wdy
  2. Thanks A-Jay! I was yelling and screaming like a 13 year-old girl at a Justin Beiber concert! (But, in a manly way!!!) Got my table on cloud-9 now!
  3. Guys/gals, I got my PB smallmouth today! I'm so excited I feel like a kid at Chrismtas! I picked up some Rage Craws per Hookingem's suggestion awhile back and finally went out to the James river to use them. Got this fellow on my secret spot, never caught a smallie there before. I felt a bite and thought no way, but hook sets are free and made contact with him. I think he was 3 lbs. he had some type of fleshing eating parasite on him, see pictures. I tried to get it off him the best I could (hope I dont have a flesh eating parasite now!) I'm so happy I could do a back-flip! (Not really, but I am that happy!) Well, it seems a couple of the pictures are too big, but if you look hard you can see his skin being eaten away from something. WOW, I love fishing!! Wdy
  4. Those are pretty good! Thanks for the laugh!!
  5. Yeah, I've seen these prices start climbing again. Maybe Shimano figured out everyone was going to start buying up the old Curados.
  6. I know Tacklewhare house has some at that price, but they are the 51's
  7. Yeah, I have one. It has done great for me! I keep wanting to get a replacement reel, like the Pfluger Supreme XT or Stradic Ci4. But, I cant justify it b/c the Sedona has never let down and I have about 5 years on it. Doubt you will go wrong picking up another one.
  8. Sorry Packard, I did not rate your combo. Reel 9, love me Shimano reels, but not familiar with this one. Rod 8, I like the Stix, but shy away from them Line 8, I know a lot of people like that line, but it didnt impress me when I used it. Hope you catch a lot of fish on this set up! Wdy
  9. Yeah, I talked with Keith the owner of Powell Rods and that is what he suggested. I get a discount on Powell rods for being a Federation member so, just sucking up as many as possible. I use almost exculisvely Rapala DT cranks. I am looking at using the 10 and next size up. Those should be 3/4oz. cranks. Of course, you know which reels I am using with so......I'll check that rod out. Thanks Mike!
  10. Hey everyone, Checking to see if anyone has or used this rod? I want to put it to work for crankbaits. Thanks Wdy
  11. Great story about catching the fish! And you are right, he is good!
  12. AJ, didnt read it, but sounds like you've been going to class! Either that or you can copy and paste out of a blog really well! Now go back to chasing women at college and forget about this getting smart thing! Sam is taking Sean to the double-secret pond Friday.
  13. Ok, mine current favorite is Rod: Powell Endurance 723C Reel: Super-tuned Curado 50E w/ Boca Bearing upgrade and Carbontex drag Line: Mist green P-line flourclear 12# One great set-up for tossing senkos!
  14. I know what they are biting on now!
  15. There are a couple of Zillions in the flea market about the same price if you dont like that green.
  16. I missed a good one, about 3 weeks ago there. Sam will tell you that, I was in the back of his boat. (Helsinki shad)
  17. Crankbait about20ft out parallel to the shore
  18. Get the E7 super-tuned by DVT and then, you would have a reel Chuck Norris would use. But, you're in a great situation here, you only have good problems, meaning you have a lot of options to pursue.
  19. That guy is AJ my buddy, I can check with him. I know that Citica is in great shape! (He doesnt catch that many fish!LOL!!!!)
  20. A lot of things in your post here. I have all three in the Curado family, and yes I crank with the E5 a lot! Do you flip or pitch, that might be the avenue for the E7. IMO I would keep the E7, you will find an application for it in the long run. If you want rid of it now, it can be easily sold. I do prefer using the slower gear ratio for plastics. To your last question, no I would go with the E7 for lipless and spinnerbaits. Not sure what type of water you are fishing, but having that extra speed can and will allow you to bring those baits across submegered vegetation without "mowing the lawn," as I call it.
  21. X3 all are very good lines
  22. Hey everyone, Sam, Jaydee, and myself have a tourny there next Saturday. If anyone has a fishing report to give that would be great and help us out a lot! Thanks, Wdy
