  5. He probably just goofed up his words he was instructed to say. I like to use my old Ambassaduer 5500 C3 without anti-reverse on crankbaits. That little "back partial turn stop," allows the fish to suck the crank in deeper. Maybe that is what he meant. But, yeah as far as feeling the different, I doubt it.
  6. I'll check into this and call you when I find out Sam.
  7. I have not used the St. Croix line you are talking about, but I know they make fantastic rods. I do have two Powell Endurance series, the 723C and 6103. (My personal rule of not spending more then $200 for a rod or reel kicks in, but prevent the poorhouse from expensive bait monkey.) I love my Powell's they took a little getting used to. My 723C says it's an extra fast tip, yeah, not sure about that but, the hook setting power is what got me hooked on that series of rods. So much back bone with the rod, I rarely loose a fish after setting the hook. Plus, the sensitivity is there, it has enough to feel everything, (I mainly use P-line Flourclear on my reels). I think *** has a deal where you can try a rod out and then send it back if you dont like it. But, you are not going to to wrong with either rod, I guess $$ might be the difference.
  8. I haven't used the Stradic, heard everyone that has one loves it. I have the Pfluger Supreme XT, I know it's not a reel of choice here, but the Pfluger drag is VERY smooth. But, for this price range I doubt you will go wrong of these three reels. Enjoy the new reel!
  9. I will verify that, but I am pretty careful about loosening and tightening that back up before I go fishing. IT only took me 5 nasty-backlashes to learn, "Check your cast control before fishing." Thanks for the suggestions guys! Wdy
  10. Hey everyone, I have a 50E and lately when I disengage the spool for a cast it will slap, or slide along the shaft during the cast. What I mean is, the shaft and spool assembly will slide back and forth in and out of the reel (along the long-axis of the shaft) about say 1/8". Makes a pretty good noise, when I used my 200E7 today and the spool did not seem to have that issue. Has anyone else come into that problem? Thanks in advance, Wdy

  14. I had DVT poilsh the bearings in my E5 and E7 and I think it is unfair how fair it will cast as well. I would highly suggest that. Mike is awesome and BR forum members get a % off. Good luck!
