Wow, that is something 11# pike of 6# fluro.......great job!! I love to fight big fish on ultra-light gear.

Hey everyone, I was out just goofing around catching panfish on my utralight rod and reel and I was thinking about the biggest fish I have caught on ultra lights. So, I am curious to see what is your biggest fish on ultra light gear say, 6# line or less?

I think I am heading out there tomorrow morning. This cooler weather, plus rain probably slowed down the bite some. Thanks for the input everyone!

Hey everybody, I wanted to check and see if anyone else has seen some rust on their 1.5s. I had a tournament last weekend and used them up on the Potomac river. Caught some good fish on it, then put it back in my tackle box. When I got home I opened up the tackle box to let the lures dry out (for a day). Today, I went out again, just beating along the bank and pulled out the KVD to use. The snap ring had rust on it, then the front treble hook had rust on it as well the snap ring. I really like the lures so, I am not trying to bash them, I just thought it was funny for one use. All the other lures I used (crankbaits) I did the same thing with. Used them, put them back in my box then let them air out........no rust. I got some new rings and treble hooks ready to replace them, just curious to see if someone else had this problem Thanks in advance Wdy

Welcome to the board! If you need some ideas to go in Newport News let me know. I use to live down there for 6 years. I use to fish Newport News res., Mariners, and all the Suffolk lakes. Plus, as Hookingem (AJ) says another VA guy. A lot of great information and good people in here hope to see you post a lot!

X2 Compre rods do not get the look they should.

Blue is right on the money. Look for wood on the banks or a rock bank if you can. Something that will act as a heatsoke to hold bass. In muddy waters you dark colored lures in a larger size. That will give the fish a good contrast to home in on the lure. Good luck!!

Good stuff! I use to live in Newport News and fish Cahoon and Prince all the time. Moved away too soon before Burnt Mills opened up. Great fish! Have you tried Paca Craws down there?

I thought there was a law passed a year ago to close the sales tax or lack of getting it from online purchases.

A couple of guys I use to work with listen to them a ton. First time hearing anything from them, not bad. A good change from the norm.

Hey Morelures, try finding a magazine at your local fishing store called Angler Magazine. A lot of good information about VA fisheries are in there. As far as colors, look for Paca Craws in Orange/brown or Potomac Blue if the water is dirty. Try to add rattles to the Paca Craws. Let me know how you do. Wdy PM not sent this is it.

I have a 2009 Premier and 50E and 200E5 and the Premier will out cast, distance wise. Now, if any wind picks up the Premier is a tough one to manage.
