  1. Karen Savik has been with NAFC doing Berkley... I believe related demos and discussion on destinations....it would be a very good time for an advertiser to select a lead for such a position as the following...young girls to teens to future tour anglers is there just needing icons....which the WBT had started to develop....the talent is there just needs a sponsor/investment group to get the backing...Savik, Martin-Wells,Wong, Glasgow, Richardson and others DESERVE and have EARNED an edition of "The Bass Pros" where the Ladies Pro Perspective would be discussed and the following will have a continued direction....Bass Pro can entwine them with the current crew....maybe a story with Van Dam on Crankbaits...followed by Judy Wong on flipping weed mats......it all is dependent on the advertisors and the reps who sell the anglers and ideas.....unfortunately grass root movements just point out ideas with advertisors but we all need to continue the dialogue and network where and when we can so the advances will not be forgotten.
  2. I'll be flying in around noon to Memphis on Sunday and renting a car so if someone needs a ride we can co-ordinate it and get some folks there....will have the car all week.

  13. ProCrafter replied to White77's topic in Fishing Reports
Great looking fish even with the fuzz!!!
  14. I looked all over and there is no "Set up you 2010 team" prompt....did they drop that too?
  15. If my pre-fishing made me confident of several winning patterns then yes I have a real hard time sleeping....seems like I want to just stay awake with that "Cheshire Cat" grin so everyone knew i had it in the bag......now if I choked on day one the sleep is easy the next night as the "Cheshire Cat" got squashed in the road trying to find the ramp!!
  16. Something id like to see how all the anglers answer..... "How has this recession changed the way you do things and do you fear for the fishing industry?"
  17. I got that warm fuzzy feeling too seeing Kentucky Lake and feeling the first fish when folks back home in Seattle were still scraping off the frost!! This time it will be a month later and the fish will be ON FIRE!!
  18. I am just chompin at the bit waiting for the spring to start and here so we can get to whackin those Alabama fish!!!! As far as the boat thing goes....might need to change my screen name soon....more to come....
  19. I might be late on this subject but here goes....I have been the TD for our club for 5 years collectively and have learned alot from my first year. Several things to consider..... 1. Credibility....being new to your club, you have minimal at best and this gives club skeptics ammunition when problems arise. 2. Experience....not necessarily TD experience but rather tournament experience...again this might get skeptics fired up. 3. Hecklers....also grouped with those skeptics....I mention these guys alot as they are there as mostly senior members who want THEIR CLUB run right and if turning the heat up on the new guy will ensure only a quality TD then so be it....being I was TD of the Oldest Bass Club in the US it was alot of stress on me the first year but if you can show good composure, fairness and a willingness to stand your ground based on the principles and rules set forth by the members them selves you will be fine...... Points to success.... A. Study and know ALL the Rules. B. Be Prompt and Un-Yielding C. Make it Fun for all! A fun time will lift your confidence and build it with others and break down barriers of skeptics-Hecklers allowing the event to move smoothly! Biggest Point....dont hesitate to ask the members for help....clubs are a collaborative and people feel hurt when an activity is allowed to fail when no call for assistance is issued and come Re-election time it will be remembered!
  20. For those who think its too far....Glenn, Keri and myself are flying from Seattle and on Priceline my fare...with a rental car for 6 days...is $610.00, for a 6 day vacation this is well worth it to me as I rarely leave Washington to go anywhere....I take 5 rods and reels...less tackle than last year!! just hope the TSA dont ask about Sexy Shads and Sweet Beavers again!!! added 30 minutes to clear security!
  21. Columbia River at Tri-Cities...club tourney...had Smallies stacked up and were getting 1-1/2 lbers almost every cast on lipless cranks...got one to hand was trying to llip it when my partner got a better keeper...fish slid down my hand and the treble caught my ring finger on my right hand and the fish started shaking driving the hook to the bone......finally corralled the fish and overboarded him....had to cut the shank and push the hook through my finger as the barb was buried...almost blacked out!!! left two holes making me the newest member of what we call "The Snakebite Club"
  22. Of course....being a fisherman, you have to upsize to impress....by the way I'll only be catching 6 lb plus fish at Pickwick....be ready.
