  6. Yeah I noticed my hookset was altered as the fish were swiping at it on the fall so I was reacting to the line twitch alot of times with the fish already gone! The water was rising about a foot a day so these fish were schooled up following the waterline and scarfing up the hoppers, crickets and lizards. Also have to work on setting the camera lower to get more backround....can't wait for Spring to try some more filming! Did you hear the cows?
  7. Went to Lake Roosevelt on the Columbia River and scored alot of Smallies in a tributary last May. Hope the link is set up right. http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t79/larfshmn/?action=view&current=mov-3-br09.flv

I have the F-250 Super Duty 4X4 short bed x-tra cab and only problem is the 2004 6 litre Powerstroke which is plagued with EGR and Head Gasget problems....stick to the 7.3 litre rig and the years you specified and the diesel should pull anything....any diesel questions check out www.dieselstop.com they helped me with diagnosing my issue with the EGR. p.s......getting my head gasket fixed to the tune of $4.800.00 now so be aware of the diesel markup in maintenence and look into ANY warranties!! http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t79/larfshmn/03126871.jpg
  9. been gone awhile...im here in Covington Wa. near Maple Valley.
  10. Some Co-Angler ettiquette... 1) respect the front of the boat, most tournaments cut the boat in half at the console...try not to cast forward of the console and hopefully your boater will not throw behind it! If your flipping/pitching the boater might say "come on up" to the front deck...either ask or let them invite you up. 2) be prepared to fish used water. Observe what the boater is throwing and change up size and slow/speed up presentation so you do not copy their presentation. Watch where they throw and hit just left/right of their last spot, some boaters do a good job of saving spots but when you are focused on catching fish efficiently you hit everything! 3) feel free to exploit deeper water! This time of year is when Co's rule the roost as alot of fish are still staging on breaklines, especially in the NW and the boater in beating the bank, cast a splitshot Senko or Carolina Green Pumpkin Lizard on the break and load up!! 4) based on the size of the boat and how much you run make sure you help the boater with fuel money. The average for our tournaments is around 20-30 bucks per 8 hours, running 25-40 miles a day (good gas mileage on the Merc-150!) As others have stated Have Fun and view this as an opportunity for a low cost guide service and try to learn as much as possible from each event and I guarantee the boater will take alot from fishing with you too!
  11. Washington State has collected info from tournament results for years and formulates a census based on that collection...they experimented with a catch record book for the general angler but it has not taken off yet. The info is avail. from them upon request and online. Here is where we send in info... http://www.wdfw.wa.gov/fish/contests/contest_report.pdf Here is the report from 2006... http://www.wdfw.wa.gov/fish/contests/2006_bass_walleye_summary.pdf
  12. Yup, sounds like he is jealous of being outdone by a partner and found a new Pidgeon! might be worth a warning to the new guy!.....if anything just for yuks!
  13. Thats what keeps this sport great...introducing the next generation!! Great Job!!!! ;D
  14. I wouldnt know what club to go to in NY but as for why a club....If anything to learn local waters and most importantly...most prevelent patterns and colors. Once you know the prevelent patterns and colors you can then spread out to other fisheries in the region and re-create and refine your presentations to accent your fishing style...that is what trips up alot of touring anglers when travelling around the country, they try to force their fishing style on the region and it makes them look silly compared to someone who has done their homework or got reliable info.
  15. Great to hear from ya Marc...hope you are getting out over there in Mizzou!
