  1. HMMMMM, we were on the lake at about 6:30am and tried Spooks for about an hour and a half with no luck! The water looks like chocolate milk(Lake Istokpoga). All i could catch em on was soft plastics flipped in weeds. I will be back out this coming Sat, hopefully i get a hawg this time! It's been sooooooo long since i got a fatty over 6lbs guys!!!!! >
  2. Really?? I thought round / circles / cylinders were physically the strongest shape? Eggs are round, not octagons. : ) If you were comparing by shape and not thickness, would not the flat sides be weak points where buckling could occur more easily? Just wondering, i could be completely wrong. That is exactly what i was thinking too! Each bend would be a weak point? I am seriously considering the BPS one because the price tag is 1/2!!! >
  3. Just got back from my trip. The fish were pretty active today versus last week. These fish are CRAZY! I caught 5 all together but no hawgs. All my fish came from flippin bull rush patches in 5ft of water. It felt good to set the hook again! ;D
  4. ALL YEAR!!!!! That's the EFF ELL BABY!! ;D
  5. I use to have a Stratos, man i miss it! I would put mine in a foot of water with two people no problems!
  6. My 16ft bass boat will go in about 10" of water.
  7. UNBELIEVABLE MAN< THAT IS JUST GREAT!!! ;D
  8. On my first outing with a boat i loaded the wrong set of batteries(put in a dead pair). I was still kind of asleep when i did it before leaving. I back the boat in (by myself) and i unhook it and it drifts way out in the water. Keep in mind there is no dock just a ramp. I go to crank the motor but battery is dead. I figure i will use the trolling motor to get back but, you guessed it, that battery is also dead! I didn't even have a paddle with me! Finally someone coming in from the lake saw me and jump started the outboard battery. I didn't even get to fish that day! >
  9. Don't you just love that reel? I know i love my premier!
  10. I will just take one, my universal/beater set-up. A 6' 6" MH/Mod Fast rod with a 6:3:1 reel.
  11. Well i am not giving up! I'm headed back on the lake tomorrow morning at 5:30am. I have no idea as to what i will be using though! :-/
  12. I am still debating on the bass pro or the Rich-Mar one(http://www.pushpole.net/Pushpole_Products.html#anchor_131460). The bass pro one costs 1/2 of what the other does but one is aluminum and one is galvanized.
  13. I would have to wear a glove on my left hand if i flipped with braid though, ;D True flippin anyways.
  14. Exactly what i was thinking! Get new fishing buddies man, LOL!!!! ;D
  15. Heart breaking every time! GOD BLESS YOU ALL
  16. Trust me, your not alone! Those are my thoughts exactly. But i always feel insecure about using fluoro in nasty cover. I wish there was an invisible braid, LOL! And yes, i tried Berkley Fire Line Crystal, it sucks!!!! >
  17. That is awesome bro! The world needs more real men like yourself to take time and get our youth away from evil. Nice fish as well, congrats.
  18. I just recently purchased this boat after being out of the fishing world for about 3 years. It's a 16ft fiberglass BasStream with all the features of a full sized bass boat. i use to have a 19ft boat years ago but i had to sale it. Honestly, i like this smaller one a lot better! It gets me just about anywhere, including one foot of water, lol! http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc102/luist4498/PICT0022.jpg
  19. WOW, where to start, LOL! Usually when working the shoreline with a worm i use a 7-8" curly tail worm. I cast out and crawl it or hop it back sloooowly to the boat/shore using the rod not the reel. You need to vary your retrieve and weight size to see what they want. If there is no weeds/snags or strong winds,i use an 1/8-3/16oz weight. If you are fishing in vegetation or high winds, use 1/4-1/2oz weights to penetrate easier. IMO there is no better lure for a beginner(and pro) than a 5-6" Senko/stick bait. Rig it weightless on a 3/0-4/0 EWG hook. Cast out and let it fall all the way down on a semi slack line(you want to maintain contact) and let it sit there for s while. Then twitch it back giving it time to fall to the bottom in between. They will usually hit it on the fall. I hope this will help you put some fish under your belt bro. Best of luck!!!!! 8-)
  20. Crucial, no doubt about about it! I would go with a longer size though. I loved my Crucial 7' 6" flippin stick.
  21. 4" chigger craw.
  22. I use these exclusively because they are cheaper than Yamamato. They are dynamite on bass, big and small.
  23. Just buy all of them, LOL! I have personally used the squirmin worm and the monster with equally good results.
