  1. Yeah they're installed right. It goes through just about anything but doesn't really leave a trail.
  2. I have 2 on my TM and not sure if they work or not really. I go through the same stuff as before but i don't think they'll hurt anything. Pretty pricey for what it is imo!
  3. Most true SB rods are geared towards treble hook baits. They're labeled fast but are somewhat moderate fast action, which is a good thing. For jig hook style baits like hudds you should get a true fast action especially on long casts. I use P-line cxx and izorline XXX for treble baits like the bull shad. Braid and fluorocarbon for jig hook baits.
  4. A3, Lew's super duty wide spool, Tatula HD 200, lexa 300 in that order. I use the first 3 now for SB fishing and love them.
  5. Dude it's not even that deep. You said yourself you're pretty set on that setup. Nobody is dismissing you or your experience it was my opinion. You asked a question and got responses back. Get what you want and like. I've been fishing big swimbaits for a while and tried just about every sb rod except the Loomis line.
  6. As already mentioned, extremely easy to do. I just did mine a few weeks ago.
  7. The two you mentioned are awesome rods. Also the og Tatula 7' 2" H/F and 7' 6" H/F and the zillion line too.
  8. @Can't Catch Bass I agree with WRB. You seem to be set on that rod so get it. I had 4 of them and broke 2 just pulling in small fish. One had guide rings come out on a cast. I also thought they were heavy and not very well balanced. This was a couple years ago though. And all SB Dobyns only come in full handle eva as far as I know.
  9. I would choose almost any other rod except the mojo. Fury 795/805 or champion line, irod SB, Daiwa DX, okuma guide select or okuma b series are all really good rods. I would also go with a low profile reel over a round style. A3, lexa 300, Tatula HD 200, Lew's super duty wide or curado.
  10. Makes me sick we're not even safe while fishing anymore! Here behind my property there are tons of these illegal ranges. They all surround the ponds my son and I use to fish. It's gotten so bad i don't go anymore. FWC and the sheriff's office are useless in this area.
  11. Do yourself a favor and get a low profile reel. The Daiwa Lexa 300 and Tatula HD 200 can both be had new for under $150. The Lew's super duty wide spool and the 13 A3 for around $160. There are others but those are the ones I've used and like.
  12. @MickD No sir, more of a bio haha. When she doesn't wake up in time she'll meet us at the ramp with food later on in the morning.
  13. @reason Maybe K V D is available....?
  14. My wife usually packs me homemade tacos. Eggs, bacon and potatoes with some hot sauce. Plenty of water, apples, protein bars and Powerade. I don't play....10-12 hrs in the FL sun ain't no joke.
  15. Grassy doesn't have a public ramp. I live about 2 min from it. Crooked is a little far for me.
  16. A top water, Rat L Trap, senko and a T-rigged worm is usually all i take to local ponds.
  17. I tried Quantum one time with the smoke reel back in the day and was quickly turned off to them. Slop in the handle and backplay along with a mediocre drag. Never bought something from them again. Never had a problem with any of my Lews.
  18. Do the exercises recommend and go get yourself a physical checkup. I get like that after long 10-12hr days of flipping. But no shoulder pain really just arm and wrist.
  19. Like stated above, every guide I know here in s FL will only guarantee fish if you use live bait. You shouldn't need a guide here though. Either hit up some deeper lakes or bring some heavy flipping/punching gear for the shallow ones.
  20. True that! I hate hurricanes too but I've been lucky thus far.
  21. @A-Jay you have got to move to FL man! I couldn't imagine putting my boat away for more then a weekend or so.
  22. Speaking only for myself, not so great on poga numbers wise. But size has been pretty good. We were out yesterday and caught a 5 and a 7.5 but that was it all day. The pressure this lake gets in unreal! And the amount of D-bags out there as well. Lake placid has produced a good mix of numbers and size. Lake clay we've loaded the boat but all dinks. Still debating where to go this weekend.
  23. Have you tried CXX or Izorline XXX? Both imo are much better then big game and very affordable.
  24. We only live once guys. It's an awesome hobby, spend as much as you can comfortably afford!
