I fish Squam Lake in New Hampshire where 'On Golden Pond' was filmed. Lots of Loons and they sometimes get curious. I have to laugh... took a newbie fishing buddy out one day and was showing him these impressive and fairly large birds. Well, one swam or should I say flew...because that's how they propel themselves underwater.... under the boat and had my friend all geeked out. He just about had a heart attack when that thing went wizzing by in search of bait.

Great Catch! All these years on the BR forum and that's the first photo I've seen of you. Keep up the good work and show us some more fishing pics.

Nice Lunker Bass. Keep that pond on the low-down or you will start to see all sorts of people with fishing rods showing up. I learned the hard way when I was a young fella like you.

Good Job with the Spook jr. I love that size, too. Matching the bait fish size is the deal in Summer, as the fry have grown to be a few inches long. I liked how you were using black in overcast conditions, so the contrast against the clouds is better with the bass looking up.

My sentiments, exactly! I have a few different colored Sharpies in my bag for putting accents on soft plastics or any lure for that matter. So I used orange to color the tails on the Lime-Purple Passion to match the Sunfish around here. It looks and works incredible!. Give it a try. Hookset

In the heat of Summer the bass really go for a lot of flapping on the claws. They seem to key on that Rage Tail action. It's lights out!

Welcome Back. Congratulations on the college degree. It's a grind. Time for the Kidd to land a few big' uns!

X2. Great job to catch that trophy at such a young age. Treasure it, Man. You could easily go the rest of your life fishing in "Cow Hampshire" and never even SEE a 6lber again! We also had a huge low pressure Nor' ester weather system yesterday. The high temp. in Nashua, N.H. was only 64! Most of the time it was in the high 50's. Incredible weather dynamics at play here. A few days ago it was in the mid- nineties! A-Jay, you grew up here in New England and you know what the first mid-Summer cold front does to the bass. A 40 degree temperature drop and the big girls a going on a frenzy feed!

Yup! Decades of using trebled lures and then early Spring 2013 it finally happened, ER visit and all. It was so cold out that my fingers were numb and I couldn't feel the hook burying past the barb after the Bass was trying to get out of the lip lock I had him in. I admit, since March, I'm much more gun shy of lipping. Now each Bass with trebles gets my FULL and undivided attention on the grab.

I really enjoy the Booyah Pad Crasher for all-around use. In the pads, walking over submerged weed beds or working it around visible cover. They're short money ,too!

The Slug-go is still in the rotation. BR members have heard me tell the story ( I'll spare you the long version), that the Slug-go inventor gave a bunch to our Bass Club in1990, before the product launch. We of course, gave the bass a royal spanking with these erratic slithering jerk baits. The originals do have a tendency to rise up when they are twitched, so I've gone over to the newer Sinking Slug-go, which is loaded with salt. Try 'em you'll like them. hookset

Big-0. that's a nice compact flipping bait with the claws that stay pretty tight behind the body. I'm sure Denny wanted a profile like this for his new digs down on the clear waters of Lake Amistad! How 'bout an Amistad blue craw in honor of Mr. DB...?

X2. Exactly what I was thinking. In grass they do come through easier. I mainly like them in bigger sizes, as the smaller profile than similar size lead makes them more nimble working them in different types of cover.
