  1. Good Show! Enjoyed it. 20 bass is a nice days' catch.
  2. Over Stock Bait Outlet. Unbelievable deals on Yamamoto in bulk. I've been buying from this site for about three years. 100% satisfied.
  3. Try putting some of these on your soft jerkbait. They last a lot longer. Paycheck Baits- Head Case
  4. Mitch, that's an outstanding post about clear water fishing up North. Bookmark this one!
  5. Papajoe's got the deal right here. That's just how I choose my bait type and retrieve style, too.
  6. The Pond bass must have felt so nice, after the llooong you know what.
  7. That's OK. It's all part of the Springtime ritual. Some gorgeous days followed by harsh weather. That's the different weather patterns fighting over what the temps feels like. Each nice day is a Blessing in my mind, so enjoy!
  8. Absolute Hawg! Beautiful colors on her, too. Congrats!
  9. I've got to give that a go, John. I'm usually a LC Pointer or finesse jig kinda guy.
  10. When I was young in the 1970's, I was a big disciple of Doug Hannon "The Bass Professor". Doug talked about the Full Moon and New Moon quite a bit. In a nutshell: the 3 days before, on or after the Full/ New Moon is the highest probability of catching the larger bass in the body of water your fishing. I have keep a journal of all the Bass I've caught that were 4 pounds and over for many, many years and the results bare this out. I believed Mr. Hannon (R.I.P.) back then and still use the Rick Taylor Solunar Tables to this day. It's just my thing, I know, but it gives me hope and more confidence on those particular days.
  11. When worm fishing with either a Texas Rig or Carolina Rig, it goes like this: 1) feel the bite. 2) "weigh" the line to sense if their is any kind of life on the other end. 3) Cross their eyes. By the way, it's a fast three count!

Oh Yeah, the Bass Assassin Die Dapper soft swimbait is smokin' in the 5 inch Houdini.
  13. AK, those River 2 Sea by Ish are real bass catchers. For around $8 you get a crank that is built and performs like a $16 squarebill. Good choice!
  14. Wow, I'm all over that. The XCS squarebill crankbaits are some of the most under-rated ones in an over saturated bait category.
  15. Congratulations on the PB lunker. That Beard gave you that Jeremiah Johnson look. It's def. Swag.
  16. My best buddy has a fishing and hunting camp up in the Moosehead Lake region of Maine, that has provided some of the most majestic sights I've seen while fishing. These include beavers, otters, eagles, owls etc. The coolest thing we've ever witnessed was a Bull and Cow Moose feeding on aquatic weeds along the marsh side of a river we fish. They wade in up to their stomachs and dunk their heads in the water to get a mouthful of vegetation. I like when they bring their heads out of the water and have milfoil or pondweed hanging off the antlers or heads. This is why we go fishing, Guys! It is the love of the Natural World. Man was not meant to work in cubicles!
  17. Oh your welcome. I tried them all and I will tell you, that Texposer was designed from it's ***, to hold a soft stick bait perfectly. I have them in every size. They really stick the fish, too. Good fishing.
  18. Dude, it's been a long Winter. I think we're all going a little nucking futs!
  19. Well, I have to say there's two guys I've been watching on TV for 35 years. Started learning bass fishing techniques from them when I was about 17 years old. In my 50's now. For many years, I wouldn't miss their shows for anything. One is a blond haired, jokester from Cookson, OK. The other is one of original B.A.S.S. pros and wears a Tennessee hat.
  20. We’ll It’s Late in the Day and the Suns Getting’ Low I Caught Me A Big ‘Un But I Let ‘Em Go I Sure Had Fun Just A Watchin’ Him Stretch My Line.
  21. I have a hand full of the LuckyCraft square bills, like the RC 1.5 and 1.5 Deep divers. These cranks always produce and seem to attract bigger bass than some of the other brands that I throw. Having said that, I'm hesitant to throw them in the real nasty cover for fear of losing a $16 crankbait. For that kind of Kamikaze cranking, I bought a dozen of the XCalibur XCS 100 1/2oz. size. I bought them online for $3 a piece, which is 50% off regular price. The only thing is they were the Real Craw colors, which they had on close-out. The E-tailer where I purchased them begins with the word "Land" if any one is interested, as the special is still on going. I really like the KVD HC Squarebills in the 1.5 size, for everyday use. They just flat-out produce, so that's why they're in such high demand. Anyway, I have found that the most productive way to fish Squarebills, is to bang and deflect them off everything. This includes rock, stick-ups, laydowns, stumps and grass like hydrilla or lily pad stems.
  22. X2. Very thorough and well written post, Kickerfish. Bookmark this one.
  23. I've successfully fished Bobby's Tournament Frog for many years. It is a very good quality frog that, bottom line, catches the Big ones. I want you to go on You Tube and look up Bobby Barrack or Snag Proof videos. Bobby is a California topwater stud. That's his thing on the Sacramento Delta. They even have a big tournament there every year that's put on by Snagproof. All you're allowed to throw is Snagproof Frogs. You got a good deal, no worries.
  24. Randy said afterward, that he culled 7 or 8 Four Pounders, for cripes sake! Guys, up North here, a four is a very nice Bass. He also commented on the fact that all the people on the bridge and causeway, got to see all the action, up close and personal. Randy was jacked up from the crowd, because most of their tournament catches are only seen by a few spectator boats as it happens live out on the lakes they fish.
  25. Has anyone even considered that maybe a local tournament Bass angler has fished against some of these Alabama Elite pros in the past? What if you were in a local tournament, some years back and lost a lot of money to one of these Elite Anglers. Some guys hole jump because of a past grudge with that particular Pro. I have even heard stories of people wreaking a spot that is being fished by someone other than, their favorite Elite Pro. That is scary stuff!
