  1. Y'all seen the big bass I caught Thursday right, well that's in the middle of oil country. An Exxon Valdez can happen with any fuel, what do you think would happen in the event of a hydrogen explosion? If it's a fuel that can be burned in a combustion engine then the chances of a mishap will always be present. There is a better chance of drilling in Alaska with out incident than finding a safe alternative any time soon.
  2. I like Calcutta's because they fit my hand, their gear ratio fits my style of fishing, and they are extremely relievable. So for my personal happiness I'll gladly spend the $200 dollars required to purchase one.
  3. 42 bottom will be more stable than a 36 bottom which will make Momma happy
  4. To consistently catch big bass you should throw 1 of 3 baits, Worms, Jig-N-Craws, or Swim Baits. I agree with Doug Hannon when said It takes a rare breed of fisherman using simple techniques to perfection to consistently catch big bass. The two biggest mistakes most people make are they don't fish where big bass live and they over complicate the lure selection. Don't worry about what name brand worms, jigs, or swim baits; pick one and throw it where big bass live. I probably have the simplest selection of lures of any body on this web site; call it Ole School if you want to but it works and it'll work any where, any time, under any condition.

3 or 4 years ago there was a rash of thefts going around Texas lakes in which ten of thousands of dollars in tackle was stolen out of boats at various hotel, motels, & marinas. Apparently there was a gang behind this and they would target places where tournaments were being held. Local police and Texas Rangers broke it up arresting I forget how many; recovering some of the tackle stole. It was also rumored they stopped by boats on the lake, had the occupant dawn PFD's jump over board and take the whole boat.

As written in the Members Challenge Well after my mother-in-laws passing 2 weeks ago and having to take my wife to the emergency room Monday I finally had time to try to do my member challenge. I went to local marsh, tried crank baits in the canals which was my challenge for last month and this month. (bflow_6 April & niksfishinmom May). Well needless to say I was skunked on crank baits but managed to catch 12 and lose 5 on a Rat-L-Trap. About an hour before I decided to leave I took out my trusty Texas Rig with a V&M 9 Super Ringer worm black neon. On my second cast the worm landed in some grass so a short flip landed it back in the water, after a 30 second pause I bumped and pause again when the line started to get tight. Drop the rod, reel the slack, & set the hook produced a 23 x 20 10.37 lb hawg The picture was taken on my cell phone You wanna talk about stress relief

  18. Some days they don't bite not matter what you throw Shallow water I would try a slow falling bait like a Senko, weightless worm, Paca Craw on a Spot Remover Jig.
  19. P_Rock that is the exact reason we are now dependent on foreign oil, that and we give our technology of how to refine oil to foreign countries.

First off I simply love fishing plastics of any kind but it is hard to get me to try new baits based solely on name alone. Heck I just got my first packs of Paca Craws and Spot Remover Jigs 3 or 4 weeks ago. Natural I see you're in Norman Oak, what colors did you buy? I have a nephew in Norman so I can get him to send me some. Best of all they are made by Berkley Power Baits
