That's a toss-up as far as performance :-/ I would have to go with the dealer that has the best reputation for customer service.

I just started using them and simple love em I use the Okeechobee bug which is green pumpkin on top and sapphire blue on the bottom. I've been rigging them on a 3/16 oz spot remover another new for me

I use Berkley Big Game in green, dark blue, and amber because with age comes a lack of vision. The hi-vis lines help me see it better thus improving my catch ratio and besides I have noticed no difference in the number of bass caught.

I palm my reels & I like the way round reels fit my hand I also like a 5.8:1 gear ratio; to me this is the perfect speed for how I fish 8-)

Let me see if I can explain this so some y'all will understand my intent, pictured below is a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000 with a Heddon Mark Special Purpose #6277 5 ½' Medium Heavy Action. The handle section of this rod is cast aluminum and the gold color portion I'm not sure of but the entire set up is some where around 1 ½ to 2 pounds. This was my goto setup during 1972 when I started tournament fishing on Toledo Bend, now imagine tournaments back then weren't for sissies like today. We fished 12 to 14 hours a day using setups like this to throw Spinner Baits, Hot Spots, & Texas Rigged Yum Yum Worms. At the end of the day your fingers hurt, your wrist hurt, your elbows hurt, and your shoulders hurt. So when Shimano came along with a reel that weighed ounces and Fenwick came along with High Modulus Graphite rods I quickly jumped on the band wagon. As for boats I started out with a 15' 6 Hustler Stick Steer with a 70 HP Evinrude with a Hummingbird Super 60 Flasher and an Evinrude trolling motor that may have had 18 lbs of thrust. So you see it aint about money it's about comfort and enjoyment

Did someone mention buzz bait yet? Fish the same baits, same locations, and same techniques you would during the day. The only thing different I add to my repertoire at night is a Q-Beam!

Cephkiller I'm not trying to lessen what you're going through, venting frustrations is part of what this site is about. Those types of problems can weigh just a heavily on one's mind as mine can but friends like you help open the vent letting the steam out. Laughter works like a good medicine but first the steam must be released

With a Jig or Texas Rig I keep the butt of my rod near my body at all times, the rod tip is usually in the 1 to 1:30 position, when a bite is felt I'll drop the rod tip to the 2 or 2:30 position depending on water depth, and then the hook set is just quick snap up to the 12 o'clock position with the rod tip. I let the speed of the rod tip and then the rods back bone set the hook; not my arm strength.
