  1. the bikini's are hard to pass up....... you got my vote man!!
  2. go costa..... ive got them and love em.... and, if you have the xtra $$..... go for the 580's as well..... go to a shop that has the CDM's and try the 400's first..... then put on the 580's...... you'll be a believer after that, for sure!!!
  3. nice fish man....!!! im a fan of the BBZ 1 as well.... one question, i see a couple of poles on the ground by you, in addition to the one in your hand....... how many setups do you take with you if your just walking the shore? ... i usually stick with one, maybe two....... but more often than not... one is it.....
  4. i just bought a sahara 500 myself........ cant wait to get it in ...... (mail order, cabela's) although my UL setup wont be with a loomis, im still stoked none the less....... happy fishing man!!!!
  5. ahhh... dink whisperer...... although i did not read all the responses to this one, i must say that in the 6 to 7 months that i have been using suffix braid, i have not had any bleeding prob's...... just the usual line fade..... that seems to be the case with all braids......???????? sorry man for your issues with it, id be ticked as well........... i just cant say that ive had the same.
  6. thank you mattlures. just what i was looking for.
  7. its a new WR hands down. im pretty sure you caught that in lake biawa right??? somehow you look different though
  8. no one needs a scale unless your trying to prove something to someone else, or your self for that matter........ if your gonna post here, and state a weight for the fish.... you'd better have a scale, bc i personally dislike the over guestimate game...... but honestly, a big fish is a big fish.......some people dont care about an exact weight, albeit most of us do. so you dont need a scale to catch fish or large ones for that matter, and in that respect alone no one should be bashed for it...... but if your gonna try to show something off here, or to yourself...... then yes...... just buy one already.
  9. im not talking about, oooohhhh, i need to see whats happening on BR right now...... im saying that i have become addicted to finding out all the information that is offered here, and must check constantly. nothing compares to on the water experience, and good old wisdom..... but the insights to tackle, techniques, area's..... etc..... are seemingly limitless in here..... the vast number of members, and the skill of all that are here is simply astounding at times. i have gained so much by all the members here and am very grateful for it..... so i feel as if i might miss some great idea or insight for the sport if i dont see whats going on...... im sure others feel this way as well, just wondering though.
  10. agreed...... ive had your situation more than a few times...... even the slow sink spro BBZ 1 will turn a 180 with a fast slap.... when they follow it, and i can see this happening...... ill do just that, suddenly stop it..... and slap it hard...... the bait then turns around and stares them in the face, this usually produces a violent strike.
  11. im not sure on the size ratings for the rapala's..... but id have to say the one i always use is the "medium" size.....?? black on silver, its the way to go...... although i have had much more success with the jointed version..... same color, and "medium" size i suppose.
  12. good to have ya....... and im a shore fisher myself...... still catch plenty, and some large one's at that..... nothing wrong with being shorebound my friend....
  13. thats one great bass man!!!!!!! i hate the whole pic estimation process though, its nearly impossible to get it right. id have to say at least a 9....... but it could go into the 10's.... who knows, all i know is that you caught an amazing bass that anyone on this site would love to catch.... good job.
  14. some people are just like that...... dont care for them too much myself..... i prefer to be a bit more friendly with people i encounter to say the least.
  15. Mattlures....... my pal and i have decided to try that approach, but were gonna go sloooooow with it at first, maybe just 2 or so each week for a few months...... the pond it pretty small, so i dont want to overdo it..... if you have any advice as to how to approach it, im more than willing to listen. i like your style man, thats good stuff right there!!! thanx RoLo.... that one makes the 3rd to go 9+ from the fishery. we've had about 4 or 5 in the 8's... and numerous between 5 and 7...... never had any 10+ out of there though.... my PB still stands at 10-3, from different waters.... i do believe its just a matter of time and patience before the old "lunker lake" produces something better....... which is why i normally put all of my time on that water.
  16. nice story man, gotta love the frog bite... and congrats on the fish!!!!!!!!
  17. nice bass man..... my guess that im just throwin out of left field would be about 4 lbs.
  18. congrats my man!!!!!! that is seriously the fattest summer bass i have ever seen, completely awesome catch....
  19. i was literally 2 clicks away from getting the pflueger. it was like 40 bucks, and the rod i was going to pair it with was 50 bucks...... but i decided to search around a little more. thats when i found the sahara 500 and fish eagle II combo in the bargain cave at cabela's........ for the 90 bucks... so of course i had to go that route .....and thanx branuss, i cant wait to use it!!!
  20. 5 up is a big fish in my book. if you get one thats 7 or up in a day, well........ then your day is complete
  21. thats what im talkin' about...... that is exactly what got me hooked on the UL.... i used my pals setups for a couple of weeks, when one day i hooked into and landed a 4 lb LM. now that was simply awesome, the adrenaline and screaming drag.......... on a 4 lb'er of all things. it truely makes the game much more interesting to say the least!!!
  22. bass or bass........ the saying on the back view of your boat made me lose it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D laughed for a solid couple of minutes, awesome. and i as well still catch bass on my jitterbugs, i love throwing them at dusk along the shore line....... its good times!!!!
  23. there was a power plant (nuclear) on hutchinson island where i grew up in highschool.... jensenbeach FL... all of the area, the indian river, was off limits around it. i may or may not have been there a few times late at nite it had a crazy whirlpool effect that was intense, and tall fences, and i may or may not have caught snook, tarpon, and sharks from the location.... i dont know why i know so much, as i never went there
  24. thanx big mike....... i cant wait to get it in, had to go for the express delivery.. the second it gets here, im grabbin' a dozen or two minnows at the bait shop and goin to town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
