  1. wink, wink.... indeed good sir........ from he who has some of the most informative posts that i have ever seen 8-)
  2. two words...... simply amazing
  3. i whole heartedly agree....... i have one bbz blue herring floater, and one dirty shad slow sink...... the action on them are truly awesome! the SK just cant mimic the erratic action that the bbz i can, especially with only one joint on the body.
  4. first off...... congrats on working new tech's for you...... i am notoriously bad at picking up new fishing habits, and know that i should try new things.... in accordance with that statement, i have yet to ever fish a tube...... or senko, for that matter.... and yes, i do believe the bass was just staring at it...... i have found many times that if something catches their attention and suddenly stops moving...... they will wait and eye it down, that is until.... it gives off a sudden jerk or lifelike action, which subsequently entices many strikes.
  5. agreed........... well put. i cant even fathom how many times i have seen huge messes of discarded line around the lakes i fish, and beach for that matter too.
  6. overkill.... i know..... but it is the same rod and reel i use for inshore salt, so its good for one.....and overkill on the other
  7. ......those settups are always lite tackle for me, some may call me crazy..... i call myself, well... stupid! but i love it....... the only thing ive got going is the 40# suffix (to make sure i keep'em on). ... the rest is as lite as it gets ;D
  8. just saw your post fin@tic............. you should give the salt a try, its really great!!!! but, i as well.... was born a bass fisherman, i just dabble in the rest
  9. and, correct...... as i just found this one (i dont get to this section much)....and must be honest, when i found this... it was at 3 pages or so...so i did not read all the posts....... there are alot of us from FL on here, and we do indeed have great fishing, fresh and salt!!!!!! sirsnookalot is another on the list, off the top of my head..... as well as many others!!
  10. that would be great....... as i said, i only get there somewhat often....... so next time im around, hopefully it will work out..... but im sure it will be a good bit of time before im in that area again, but ill be sure to let you know.
  11. awesome........ same guy as the "rejected" strips i believe....... which are some of my favorites.....
  12. ...........ya, many of those as well... but my bars were of the pharmaceutical persuasion......as well as the establishments. very destructive, and times long past...... i did a lot of really stupid sh!* in my day, and have subsequently taken a toll on my body to say the least.
  13. go with the pig my man....... the short lived ron jeremy was amusing, but disturbing at the same time ;D
  14. was out today in orlando, the news said it was 96......... but, seriously... with the humidity and the "no wind" factor..... it felt like 105 to me..... needless to say, it was a short day.
  15. honestly...... i simply dont know?????????? i never fish at that depth, as i mainly fish from shore...... so i am quite honestly inexperienced with weighted hooks that would achieve your desired depth.
  16. how right you are....... the braid has exponentially cut down my line twist probs!!!!!!!...............but they still lurk from time to time.
  17. i made the switch exclusively to braid a while back..... on my spinning gear (its all i use). i use 40# suffix with no problems... and i absolutely love it!!!!! in the fresh, no leader....... dont need it!!!! catch tons of fish, they dont care... in the salt... leader (40# mono)
  18. i have the saros 3000.... let me know how your new soron holds up.... i havent felt one yet.
  19. fresh......... straight braid, all the way (40# suffix) salt (inshore, same reel and pole)........ tie on a mono leader to the 40# suffix....(use 40lb mono leader, tied with an improved albright knot). in my opinion, if you arent targeting fish with teeth........ what the heck is the point of a leader? i catch plenty of bass on straight braid, and they dont mind..... after all, their still willing to bite a piece of plastic with hooks hanging out of it, right
  20. i only fish spinning gear..... ive had my hand at BC's, but their not worth my time..... i fish the lightest tackle possible at all times, and with spinning gear... i dont worry about light lures, or the wind.... and im sure i can accomplish any feat you can on your BC with my spinner... its all a matter of simplicity for me..... if it wasnt for the d@mn line twist, they'd be perfect although, better models solve this.... to an extent.
  21. hey, if everyone is catching fish on them..... then the proof is in the pudding.... and that why people post about them..... the only one i have tried is the rage toad, and i can attest that it is awesome!!!!
  22. i love my costa's........ their amazing, and if you dont have to get your RX in them (like i do unfortunately)... you can find some styles around your $ range. but for an even higher dollar...... the 580 lenses are easily the best on the market, in my opinion.
  23. with some @ 5, and a few 4's...... w/tons of dinks, sounds like a good day to me...... but alas, i feel your pain.... i went out today, and this fl heat and no wind here either kick my @zz!!!!!!! it was horrible, and i only caught 2 fish.....(largest @ like 2.5 lbs) .....one question for ya... where do you live/fish in that area.... my father lives in the wachula/bowling green area right off of 17.... and i am in that area somewhat often.
  24. congrats man!!!! gotta love those lunkers,eh.
