i as well have many baits that never got a chance to shine, they've just sat around for years and years ........ looking as new as the day i bought them........ with that said, i also have many baits that when i bought them looked all to awesome not to fish...... those are the impulsive buys that usually get the most use from me. the ones that can hold their own when i look at them, that is what gives me the confidence to throw them..... and sure enough, if i toss them long enough, they can and do work. as for the ones that can't hold their own just by laying eyes on them .... their fate has been sealed for quite some time

agreed........ in my area of FL lately we have had some nasty storms, and much flooding as well (it is good though, bc we were in a bad drought and all the lakes were down)..... that being said...... the rain will never stop me...... but the lightning will...... i'll fish all the time in a downpour, but the second i hear thunder.... or see a strike........ game over.

in FL myself and know all too well about how the storms have been lately........ good day though...... any day i catch a 4 and a half pounder wasnt too bad in my books

thats the most odd pattern ive ever seen in a bass..... the tail looks to be quite tattered as well, whether it be the spawn.... stress.... or predator induced, im not sure how its panning out in your area this time of year....

the barb crush is the way to go...... granted, not all of my hooks or lures are in that boat...... but a good portion of them are.... i havent suffered any noticeable loss of fish with the unbarbed compared to the barbed, and it is much less stressful on the fish im sure. (as little stress that a hook in the face can cause at least )

well the order was placed on thurs. night, it should be around by next fri...... but my gf wont let my have it till the actual anniversary date (the 14th)...so after that i shall grace the pics!

i wasnt aware of the fact that they are considered invasive, or a nuisance species..... they are quite numerous in all ponds and rivers that i fish around here. I shall look into it more myself with the FWC, and if that is definetly the case, i will make sure that none i catch enter the water again (in a humane matter). if they are as detrimental to the water systems as it seems from what i have heard here, then something must be done to solve the problem.

ya..... of course it went back..... ;D and i as well had some in my tank as a child as well...... its still surprising to see how large they can get in nature though.

your a good guy fan@tic...... hopefully your buddy will see this then..... it was 9.1lbs, caught in the same small body of water (my secret "lunker lake") that i am targeting the grandma,....... on a swimbait!!!!!!! of all things.....(it was a "low end model" to say the least, but a swimbait nonetheless !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fillet em up....... run thru an egg wash. then coat in plain old cornmeal. pan fry to perfection. (then add just a touch of salt, while still moist) chop (in med. to large pieces) a plain white onion. done... when you eat the fish, top it with a piece of the raw onion.......... amazing!!!!!!!!! plain, and great..... i do this for most all panfish, and is my favorite for catfish as well!!!!!!!

still thanx....... but wait a minute...... i just realized you said that some people dont think swimbaits work in florida ;D ;D i want to meet one of these jokers........just point me in their general direction, what fools. Really, do you not think that bass in FL dine on bluegills too!!!! (or any other variation of swimbait, cause we all know that FL has got some lunkers running around). ahhhh, man......who ever is thinking that is seriously uninformed.

best of luck to you my man.......i feel fortunate as a fisherman many of days that i call florida my home...... im seriously hopin' i see a monster with you behind it sometime soon on here!!!!!!!!!! and as for your pops.........nice bass ;D ;D .....peacocks are awesome!!!! i used to live in pembroke pines (broward/dade area of south florida) and have caught a TON of them....IMO they fight harder than a largemouth, but they dont live as far north as i am in FL now (orlando)....

i just saw your post as i put mine up.........(i didnt read them all first, sometimes i get lazy)... so it seems that we both agree......but im sure it was a fun fight still ;D

if its a PB...... it only counts with with full control (and a pic ) anything else...........well thats up to your discretion....... ive said that i caught a fish when the tiny little bugger flipped off inches in front of me....... and ive also said that one got away when it was likely 6lbs and flipped off inches away from me....... just sayin' IMO that you cant brag large fish without total dominance!
