  1. one of my top producing baits is the "mystic pop-r" (i with they still made these, and would be devastated if i actually lost it). i throw it at all times, and it seems to produce....... but i am most likely to toss it with cloudy skies and a slight ripple on the water.
  2. good to hear, and that sure is one nice lookin' fish!!!
  3. congrats on the PB!!! good job man.
  4. bilgerat..... sometimes the straight up craziest $hi* works. and by pure luck..... or maybe not???? i dont know, but i do know that it will annoy the crap out of me for some time to come!!!!
  5. id love to see that in person, ie. on the end of my lure ;D ;D ;D
  6. reels should spool fine out of the box..... that being said, on occasion i have had reels that have needed shims added or removed to aid in the spooling. if the one is still giving you problems, i would take it back for an exchange...... and start with something a little more promising. Pflueger makes a quality reel, but all cant be expected to be perfect all the time.
  7. i dont normally use trailers, but on the occasion that i do...... i just use the end piece from one of my beat up worms and such.... works just fine, and puts good use to an otherwise useless bait.
  8. pics are hard to tell...... but from the looks id go with 5.5 and likely into the low 6's for sure.... thats one fat fish man!! good job.
  9. nice one man!!!!!!!!
  10. GREAT CATS guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its been a LLLLLLOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGG time since ive had a large cat on the line, man their fun!!!! good job.
  11. i use spinning gear...... no "dialing in" found here........ ....and love light tackle, so 1 or 2 setups do me just fine on every outing that i have!!!!! (one light, and one REALLY light).... and, yes, i even through large swimbaits on them..... call me crazy,,,,,, but its fun!!!!
  12. just agreeing with RoLo..... an 8 lb trout is massive :o i mainly run into numerous SUPER-DINKS when it come to seatrout..... the largest ive caught was probably around 4 or 4.5 lbs.......(?????no scales in wade fishing??????)
  13. reds are great!!!!!!!!! recently ive caught the majority of mine on the Mirr-o-dine XL (suspending twitch bait) red and white, and the green top. their very strong and bullish fighters, ......make hard, and strong runs..... absolutely great!!!! i fish the indian river (wade) in the titusville area here in FL...... and also make it out to mosquito lagoon about twice a month or so..... goood times!!!!
  14. sorry about your lure man..... i own 2 hardgills, and would be equally devastated if they were to be destroyed!!!!!! but, ....thats a good guy right there. that is a personal comitment to a quality product if i have ever seen one!!!! so......Skinnyh2ofishin....... good to hear that he's gonna do that for ya, its quite the nice gesture (above and beyond, to say the least) that is no doubt unheard of in any lure manufacturer around.
  15. good to have ya, eh!!!!! and im glad that you seem to be enjoying the retirement with some quality fishin'!!!!!! .....good stuff.
  16. good to have ya, eh!!!!!! my HS stomping grounds were just north of jupiter....... ..... Jensen Beach to be exact. orlando resident now for the last 9 or 10 yrs.
  17. try fishing a wally world spinning combo upside down, with a red and white bobber, and a dead sun-cooked earth worm. cast it out like a fool, and retrieve it rapidly after every cast like a crank bait. do this for about 10 min, and then proceed to hook and land a 8-9 lb bass!!!!!!!!!! ******** i witnessed this exact occurrence about 2 weeks ago here in orlando, what a slap in the face!!!!!!! ******** so for underrated techniques, there you go. and its proven, trust me...... i saw it happen, and im still > and :-? ..........
  18. any of the small and private farm ponds that bill dance fishes in his shows IMO, way more productive than any large lake could be (in a short period of time at least), in terms of catching multiple "large fish" (5lbs +)
  19. where the heck is california????? never heard of it :-?
  20. here ya go, if you choose to line up with the suffix braid........ i posted this one a few weeks ago, its a link to print off a pdf file rebate for suffix, i believe its 6 bucks off the 150 spool and 10 off the 300 spool...... (there are also rebates for the other suffix lines as well) .....every little bit counts, eh! http://www.sufix.com/downloads/coupons/sufix_2009_coupon.pdf
  21. Charlie's worms!!!!!!! seriously, i wish i could eat one myself........... the smell is just all too tempting
  22. I fish only braid now myself (and spinning gear as well).... Suffix has my vote hands down, it is wonderful. Freshwater poles: 1. Saros 3000 with Cabella's fish eagle II 7' (md. lite) suffix 8/30 2. Stradic 2000 with Bps microlite 6'6" (md. lite) suffix 8/30 3. Sahara 500 with Cabella's fish eagle II 5'6" (ultra lite) suffix 2/6 4. Daiwa regal Z 1500 with a POS!! 6' (md.) suffix 6/20 Saltwater (inshore) 1. Saros 3000 with Bps microlite 7' (md lite) suffix 6/20 2. Abu Garcia Ambassador with Carbomax 6'6" suffix 6/20 ++++the Abu is my only BC that still gets any use at all, and mainly just use it to toss live bait++++
