  1. nah Raul, that doesnt seem too promising for the UL fisher
  2. wow, for a first setup, that mighty sweet my friend........ your next one will be somthin' serious for sure ;D i prefer braid, but to each his own.
  3. RW is right on the money.... i agree, seems that you should try to store them inside if possible..... and under extreme heat, your drag washers can actually expand.... making even more pressure if you did not loosen them up.
  4. no problem M and M......... for sure..... they do work very well, but their durability isn't the best...... but for like a buck or so...... i can deal with it
  5. nice catch bro!!! i wouldn't judge it to be a hawg....... but i do believe thats one fine bass you got there!
  6. new PB's are always welcome, eh!!!!!! congrats on a job well done my man
  7. way to go on the first fish!!!!!! cant wait to see the pics later.
  8. nice fish!!!! i like the looks of that pond as well.
  9. man.... speadbead..... that was great!!!!!!! almost feel sorry for the guy
  10. i only use one b/c at this point still. it a really old ambassador that i use for live bait only in the salt (hence baitcaster, i wont get started.... i hate those things). but it is in a left handed model. just how i feel comfortable.
  11. man that sucks!!!! id be mighty > as well!!! its not all your fault though....... if people were decent enough, things like this would never happen..... but lots of people aren't, sadly. i hope you see the culprit with them (i know i would).....
  12. buffets and me spell disaster!!!!!!! its always bad news.... my problem lately has been Sonny's...... every time i go, i tell myself..... dont get the all you can eat, you always feel like crap afterwards.... but, everytime i see the menu.... im like, why would i get the dinner portion.... when the all u can eat is only like 1.50 more???? never fails. all u can eat sliced pork, with garlic bread, fries, and slaw...... reorder all of them usually about 3 to 4 times........ once on a total binge, i threw the flag in at 5 reorders, and thats of meat and all sides every time..... i love the eating part, but the pregnant belly on the couch after sucks somthin' serious!!!!!!
  13. ok..... so here's my thoughts as this thread is becoming a mighty debate........ never in all fishing instances (for me) except one. that one being. fishing for catfish, from the bank..... in a pond that is walking distance from my place..... and you better believe that while waiting on the shore, in the dark, with a lantern, chicken livers, and bug spray, with no driving responsibilities, and the only task at hand is to set the hook...... that i will down some beers. other than that...... nope.
  14. nope...... its either one of the two, depending on what setup im using.... either a BPS microlite 7' md lite or a Cabella's fish eagle II 7' md lite (though for now it will be the BPS until i get my replacement from cabella's, cause im a total idiot and broke the tip off)
  15. HUH??? ive caught some crazy small fish, on some big lures...... but that one catches my eye...... its absolutely ridiculous!!!!
  16. i love catching reds...... what a great fish!!!! BTW, that small red has the lightest coloring i have ever seen on a red (or maybe its just the pic??).... but i have never caught or seen one that is so white/silver looking. all mine have been a dirty brown on top, fading into the bottom.
  17. wow bigtimfish..... crazy you didnt even have to send'em back... now thats CS at a whole new level!!!!! awesome!!
  18. ahhh.. just looked it up, they are stainless guides.... i would be weary with them and braid myself, although i have never tried the two out together.... though, many say that regular aluminum oxide guides will be effected by braid, and i have found this to be bunk!!!!! i fish regular aluminum oxide guides on many of my poles, and all have braid...... for quite some time, even with long hard runs from SW species.... and no damage in sight!!! but with SS, i might be a bit concerned.. just my .02
  19. are the guides stainless???? im not sure of the specs on that rod.
  20. thanx reel mech. i just wanted to share the idea with all that are here as well.... nah..... ive got braid on it...... its fine. i would not suggest mono and such for this setup as it will break down and become brittle over time with heat and UV exposure. the braid is not affected like mono/flouro and such by heat and UV.
  21. i see a lot of people saying the you need a heavier rod for froggin'...... i can attest that my rod is 7' and md. lite power (fast act.).... i use suffix braid 8/30... and love to toss rage toads.... no problems here, even with lighter tackle.... trust me, my rod is flimsy ..... most on this site would never use what ive got... but it makes it more fun for me!!!! just wait a second or two longer after the strike, and what i do with the light rod i use, is instead of an all at once hookset..... slightly load the rod first, then let'em have nice and hard.... with the braided line, easy hooksets are no problem at all.... even with lighter rods..... and when i say slightly, i do mean just a very little!!
  22. BPS for in store, just because there is one 10 min. from my house...... online, between the two ... i choose cabella's.. optimally, i will agree that TW has my vote hands down!!!!!
  23. for sure, nice job man!!!!! i tend to throw my jitterbug alot (mainly cause i like it), but i dont usually get that many strikes on it.... but, when they do........ its AWESOME!!!!! gotta love the topwater bite, its easily my favorite..
  24. thats awesome!! good stuff, and the photo's are great!!
  25. here ya go M and M..... just got back from wally world..... apparently they are Creme lures.... Spoiler Shad... here's what i just picked up.... total cost of everything pictured.... about $5.50
