I had just got home from morning PT when the first plane hit. Was sitting in my house off base getting dressed to head back in for work. The phone rang and we were told to show up with all of our gear. We had just finished drawing weapons when the towers fell. Fort Hood was completely locked down. Nobody was leaving the base at all. Not too terribly long after that, we were in the desert.

Armadillo helmets are far more effective....

Wasn't a bad game. Neither team was really up to par. The Vikings have some glaring issues in the secondary right now. Great to get the first game in the books and everything geared up for the weekend. Man I love this time of the year....

Nice fish right there. I really like the 7" anaconda myself. I've definitely caught more fish on that one than on the 10" model.

I wouldn't fully deck a 12' unless it's 48" or wider. I put a floor in my 12' and a mini deck up front for storage and a TM mount. I sure as hell wouldn't want to stand on a full deck in it.

A friend of mine said he has a tournament at Holey Lands this weekend. He was out fishing earlier today and struggled. Water levels were still high and the fish were really scattered. I told him good luck and that he probably should just stay home and watch football.

Naw, never. The first row on the left is actually the Dirty Jigs version of a punch skirt. Had to try them out. So far I'm quite pleased with my first purchase from them. They've got some great color patterns.

I tried using a LH baitcaster once, that didn't go well. Spinning reels with the handle on the left, I've got no problem.

It all depends on what the fish are doing at that specific time on that specific day. Part of the time they may be holding just inside the shaded area waiting to ambush prey. As the day moves on and the sun gets higher in the sky, they can possibly push further back into the shaded area. Bass don't have eyelids, they'll seek cover from the sun as the day moves on. That doesn't necessarily mean that you won't find them in brightly lit areas throughout the day either. It's all part of developing a pattern.

15-20 pounder, Snook? Nice sized cow. It's been a while since I've found any really good quality Dolphin. Mostly I've been finding peanuts in the 5-9 pound range. Personally, I vote for grilled.
