  1. 10.73 Zoom Horny Toad buzzed on the outside edge of some pads. Sounded like a cannon going off when she hit it.
  2. I've completely lost all faith in the Dolphins...
  3. Good God. That things huge!! Makes the ones swimming around my lake look like shrimp.
  4. Those Crankin Sticks are a d**n good rod for the price. Other than that goofy powerhump grip, theres not much to complain about with them.
  5. I don't really see how it could hurt anything. I'd assume that it would help with casting, especially if you sprayed down the guides. Line and Lure is some good stuff that can be used across a wide variety of applications.
  6. Global warming? Heck if I know, but it seems like we're getting less and less rain each year. The lake levels here at my house are the lowest I've seen since the house was built 10+ years ago. I actually need to figure out a better way to slide my jon boat into the water right now. It's just scraping along rocks and stuff the way it is at this point.
  7. 10.89? Thats scary low. Be careful running around out there guys. You don't want to deal with tearing the lower unit off of your engine. I've postponed the trip I was going to make up with my father and uncle. They've never fished the lake before and were really excited until I told them the possibility of having to pay for an engine. I'm not comfortable enough to run around the lake on somebody elses boat with the water that low.
  8. Good, God. What a tank. Just a spectacular fish.
  9. Something balanced, sensitive, and won't break when I slam back on a hookset. Theres numerous options from several different brands. Personally I use the Crucial Flippin Sticks and the Dobyns. Both of them are fine rods.
  10. Is there a difference? Yes. It's nothing major though. Certainly not enough to make you sit back and say "Wow." The Champion is a little more refined than the Savvy. Is it worth the X amount of dollars extra? Eh, not really IMO. Certainly if you're going to dedicate a rod to bottom contact only, then you might as well splurge a little more on that rod.
  11. As funny as that was, I can't believe non of those fools got hurt. d**n funny video though.
  12. Personally I say skip the spray on. For the most part, as soon as your freshly sprayed bait enters the water, the scent will wash right off. Just look for the tell tale oil slick around the area where your bait splashed down. Megastrike is a rub on attractant that does not leave your hands all stinky. JJ's Magic is a dip that will leave your lures smelling like garlic for months. You won't have to worry about human odors with either of them.
  13. Don't just limit yourself to using smaller plastics for either technique. You can catch just as many fish using larger worms as well. Or there are the times that you'll catch less fish, but find that the ones that do bite are better quality. As far as colors go, something light, something dark, something bright. That'll cover all of your bases.
  14. Got a kick out of this one. Friend of mine sent me the picture of this oddball fish. Was caught out in Okeechobee. For comparison...my dog: Goofy lookin....both of them.
  15. Multiple news agencies are reporting Osama Bin Laden as dead and his body is in US custody. President Obama is supposed to be giving a press conference shortly. Well well well...
  16. Drugs are bad, mmkay.
  17. Great fish. There isn't much better than fresh Cobia. Great fight, great taste. Is there anything more you can ask for?
  18. I think the worst oh crap moment I've had is coming back to the States from Bimini. It's generally not a long trip to make the crossing. We left Miami, made the boat ride over to the Bahamas in record time. Had great weather and a great trip. And then on the drive back the weather got ugly. We started taking waves over the stern of the boat. Could only make about 10 knots and keep the boat together. It got so bad that we actually cracked some of the welds on the aluminum framing for the hard top on the boat. I think it took us about six hours in eight to 10 foot seas to cross the Gulf Stream. That was the only time I was really "scared" in all my years of boating. The bilge pumps were working overdrive on that trip. Needless to say my father and I made it back safely, but thats one trip that I will never forget. Ever. Still managed to bring home a boat full of fish to put in the deep freezer though
  19. Love the color on that jig. That'll catch some fish for certain
  20. One that is well balanced, sensitive, and won't break on a hookset. Take your pick of a brand. Theres plenty of good worm rods on the market.
  21. Theres a couple of people who fish up in Lakeland... The Lakeland Bassmasters is the largest Bass club in the world.
  22. News to me. Co-poly lines are generally much less costly than 100% fluorocarbon lines. Visibility isn't the only reason for the fluoro coatings. Abrasion resistance is another major factor.
  23. x2 If you as for a pop down here, the dude behind the counter may drag out an old Cuban guy.....
  24. I miss my team having a stadium of their own. The old OB used to be a place that nobody wanted to play in. At least I can say I was alive during the longest home winning streak in college history....and then I watched the building get torn down so some stupid baseball stadium could get built. I'm going to go sit in a corner and cry now.
  25. The Aston will never be non sexy. That car is just beautiful. The GTB is a nice ride. Not something I could picture myself buying though. Once my daughters are grown up though, a smaller two door is definitely going to be coming back to my driveway.
